Over the next couple of weeks, you are going to hear a lot of "philosophical debate" articles written about the role of college athletics and how the Alliance is the way to "rescue" college sports from the clutches of the SEC and ESPN. It will be portrayed as Good vs. Evil, Principles over Money, Academics over Athletics, etc.

They will make some compelling, "feel-good" arguments yearning for a more innocent, less money-driven time of college athletics from long ago. The reality is it's all about Politics and Posturing to vilify the SEC, ESPN, and anyone else that leaves the Alliance to join them. Deep down they know they would join the SEC in a heartbeat if they could.

It's the ACC's last parting shot at football centric schools like Oklahoma, Texas, FSU and Clemson. A way to save face and act like the leftovers of the ACC and PAC have made their own noble choice to align themselves with "morally superior" academic institutions over money-hungry college football.

Their pride won't allow them to admit they were just not wanted or needed by the SEC, but rather that they chose on their own not to partake in "all-in" college football. They are hypocrites just trying to save face. It's simply a necessary coping mechanism to soften the blow that is coming within the ACC.

Do not be fooled FSU. Make the right choice when the day of reckoning comes to return to football greatness.
