So is Rick in a coma during all this?
What's the connection of being the first zombie and the iron rebar? That part doesn't make sense.Yep. He was in a coma for 45 days at least twenty of which was the zombie apocalypse. So he's snoozing away at the moment, especially since FTWD is supposed to literally be the first outbreak. As a matter of fact Junkie Depp's zombie girlfriend is supposed to be the VERY FIRST zombie period. She died overdosing per the show's creators and while she may not be the first person infected with the virus that causes you to turn into a zombie when dead, she is supposed to be the first turned zombie (which is why she has an iron rebar in her, she turned during an overdose and then attacked the other junkies in the church).
Now I will say Rick Grimes survival kind of stretches credulity. A human dies after 3-4 days without water regardless of coma or not and brine drips only last a few hours not weeks. So either the hospital stayed open long into the apocalypse (which is NOT what Shane said to Lori as he fled the hospital Prett quick into the apocalypse) or he magically survived for weeks without being awake to get his own liquids or anyone hooking him up to fluids. Literally to retcon it, you'd have to have the hospital appear to be overrun causing Shane to flee and then others save the hospital and stay babysitting Rick until just a day or two before he wakes up.

looks like a knife to me.

Still not sure if she initially died from overdose or from getting stabbed by the rebar? Did she od then turn, try to eat someone and get stabbed by someone trying to defend themselves?Just that was iron rebar sticking out of her was supposed to show that she was the one that attacked the other junkies first and you were just sup
Interesting pic.
Yes that does look like a knife, from memory I thought it was just loose metal picked up in the abandoned church but that does look like a weapon a junkie might have on hand.

I think they answer the Rick Grimes survival question in the webisode "The Oath". In that story their is a nurse or doctor living in the hospital a few weeks into the apocalypse. You can watch it here - http://www.amc.com/shows/the-walkin...01/the-walking-dead-webisodes-the-oath-part-1
The Travis character I believe is being portrayed as weak to hide a violent past. Before he went all, "you know how I feel about guns," and "Susan may just be sick," He said something telling. When his son is checking to see if his nose is broken Travis says, "I've broken my nose a million times." I can't help but wonder if he was in a gang at some point and that's how he broke his nose so often and would also explain his anti-violence/anti-gun views.
What say you?
Last night was pretty slow.
Why on earth would the new Lori want to venture out into the now wasteland? Do you really need answers that bad?
So there are only a few of these safety zones in the greater LA area, and there seems to be no over population? And there don't seem to be many zombies walking around outside? So did the military just now down a few million people living in the greater LA area? Wouldn't the survivors in the camps have heard gunshots/bombs/Armageddon for days as the million+ zombies had to be obliterated?
Looking forward to see what happens when the camp life goes south or overrun. But again there don't appear to be any zombie hordes like Atlanta seemed to have.
Liked the end when they yanked out the Junkie. And lol'd when the ex wife bailed on the rest of them.
Druggy Depp is going to be the storyline going forward... I think New Lori is going to organize a rescue mission for him at the "hospital" that is where the flashing light is coming from. The preview at the end of the episode said something about "I see bite marks" so I'm thinking they are taking the folks that are either too old or too sick to fight back to see if they can infect them and fight it off/cure the infection.
Pretty sure that's going to lead to an overtaking by the walkers and that's what leads in to the outbreak heading east.

Didn't the place where we've seen the flashing light get shot up at the end. The flashing at the end looked like gunfire. Figured the army guys were clearing it out.
Yep. I took that light as there were survivors hiding out from the "military". When Travis made it known to the leader guy of their presence, they went in and killed them all.
I'm not convinced that this is really the Army.
I hope the hospital will pick the show up. Anyone else get a kick out of Lori2 cutting a hole in the fence to go exploring.
So in FTWD they call zombies "the infected" right?
I love Shaun of the Dead!

One of my favorite comedies of all time. It's right up there on my viewing rotation with Oh Brother, Big Lebowski, Anchorman and Spaceballs.
When we go to the family place in the keys with new people we usually have a Simon Pegg film festival and get them to watch Hot Fuzz and Sean of the Dead. I also like Run Fat Boy Run, a lesser known and still very funny Simon Pegg movie. So many funny little bits in all of these. Just perfect the next day after a night on Duval Street.
So you don't think Danny is the new Carl always needing to be watched bc if his drug problem?I don't think either of the characters are like either of the other characters in The Walking Dead. It's a diffferent show altogether.
Best of all, there's no Carl always wandering off and getting lost!
"Where's Carl?!" Remember that? God that was annoying.
