So how many zombies were supposed to be in the library? Enough to pin down/overtake a fully geared up squad of national guardsman? That would have to be a few hundred zombies with all the ammo they should be carrying.

How does the team going in lose even 1 person? How are they not mowing down the zombies from distance with their firepower? I guess they are national guardsman and not combat trained troops is the only explanation.

Setting up for a good finale though. New dug dealer pimp guy is awesome. When the Forum breaks open all hell will break loose. Still do not really like any of the original characters, and the fact that the new guy is black only means he will be around until they introduce the next black character.

I'm pretty sure they left Lt. Douchebag behind on purpose. The others want to get back to their families.

I've heard of some pretty dumb ideas, but letting that stadium full of walkers out has to be the worst.

Travis is not going to make it far if he can't get past this walkers are people thing. Even Rick managed to take them out in the beginning.

The 2 teenagers are absolutely worthless.

Why couldn't the military just open 1 door of the Forum and wipe out the zombies WD barn style? It's like they forget they have 50 cal's mounted on top of their humvee's.

Where did the millions of people living the the greater LA area go? There is almost no one in their refugee camp and they said there are only 13 of these camps in their area.

That Alicia girl looked pretty good in that episode, though. Didn't care for her until this episode. :D

I like the new Old Spice guy or the apocalypse version of the Most Interesting Man Alive. I feel like he's going to go far in the show.

I don't understand the military's whole let's exterminate everyone in a humane way. I also am waiting for the mutiny to happen with the military and start seeing more suicides a-la TWD season 1 conversation about workers at the CDC.

When the military does pack up and head back to their fortified location what happens to the fenced in neighborhoods? Does everyone fend for themselves at that point? Do people try and follow the military? What happens if they do?

How far out did Travis go with the Guard? What we saw were a lot of abandoned streets and a library full of dead folk. where are the bodies? Where did everyone go? It's only 12 days in and there hasn't been any sign of anyone beyond the fence of the Travis family compound.

I agree with you in that I don't buy the military's response as realistic.

I am very curious as to where the 15 million people are on the whole. Between the riots of the 2nd episode and the numbers in total, we've seen about 1500.

I do like how the doctor finally explained to Liza finally explained what stops these zombies, still not sure why they'd keep all these people that are on the brink in chain link cells though, Seems like tempting fate.

And Cobalt seems to me to be what they showed happening to Atlanta with the napalm in TWD in Season 4 or 5.

I'm enjoying it, but it's bothering me that there's no thought to prepping for the worst case scenario. Even if they're not leaving for awhile, you'd think they'd still be collecting supplies and weapons for the long haul. At this point it's just naive to think things will all of a sudden go back to normal anytime soon.

It would make sense to me if they were looking for people who died but didn't turn, in hopes of finding a key to immunity or a cure. However, when the old lady flatlined, they put her down almost immediately. Or did the doctor check something first to confirm that the usual turning process was underway?

Nope, Doc just said "we don't know how long it will take for people to turn," so they didn't take a chance and bolted her in the forehead. They explained that anyone with a high temperature was going "downstairs" in to the holding cells... seems a bit short sighted to me.

I think the Dr. might be trying to pinpoint cause or cure with the people that come in with visible bites. The Guard guy last night was swept up pretty fast. All she did with Grizelda is listen to her heart. Once you are dead, there is no stopping the process of turning unless you get shot in the head...like we already know.

It was just another pedestrian episode for me. I can't quite pinpoint what it is - the acting, storytelling, pace, etc. but something isn't clicking. I am hoping the finale will be better. The REAL WD can't get here fast enough!

I think I actually like this new one better, it's obviously much slower so far, but I don't mind that because a lot of the "action" in tWD feels forced anyways as the story is becoming less interesting over time. I love the idea of starting from the beginning with a good old fashioned apocalypse origin story.

The 2 teenagers are absolutely worthless.

For some reason I thought they were going to "hook up" after he saw her looking at herself in the mirror with the dress on.

I really don't understand the point of showing them in the house. They could have easily used that time to have a better military vs. zombie battle.

Probably the lack of carnage one would expect at the beginning of a zombie apocalypse on a global scale. Even when they did show some riots they just felt unrealistic. We are going to pan the camera over here and you yell at nothing while shaking the fence.

There were slow times in TWD, season 2, and this show still has a lot of potential. The lead guy needs to stop being such a wuss or die. His act is getting very tiresome.

I disagree. I love this series just as much as the original so far.

Don't understand why the black guy saved Nick though. I know he told Nick why, but I still didn't understand it.

I want to know why Black James Bond is in there in the first place.

I don't know but Strand mentions about being a "wolf" at the door and he is obviously evil. Could he be the father of the group we hear about in TWD?

I don't think so. I remember the producers saying that the characters from the two shows would not be interacting. But I agree, Strand will be evil.

To me this show is a little like the 2005 War of the Worlds remake where we never are allowed to see the actual action. In this case, I think a large part of the reason is economics. It would be very expensive for basic cable to show something on that scale.

I enjoyed the pacing of the episode. Travis got a big glass of wake the F up! Hispanic torturer dude is interesting. At first I thought he was the one getting tortured in his story, but now we know better.

So the military dudes are all pulling out? Why? There are hardly any walkers around. Which seems unbelievable seeing the millions of people who live in LA.

6 episodes are not enough! Will they bring it back during the mid-season TWD?

The new guy's nick name on reddit is old spice and the black most interesting man in the world.

I think this guy will be like Randal Flagg in The Stand only without the weird powers.

15 episodes for season two, sometime next year. I doubt they'll ever run both at the same time.

Surprised how many are enjoying this by comparison, totally different and much slower pacing. If not only 6 episodes id have given up. Imho these writers and directors hsve forgotten what made TWD great; interesting personality conflicts, great action, great acting, and moral dilemnas aplenty.

I totally disagree.

There are lots of interesting aspects to what would happen at the beginning of the end of the world. There isn't just one formula.

Tend to agree here.

The beauty of it is they could make Fear the Walking Dead an anthology and show a new location (maybe a different country?) and new cast every season. Different approaches, different interactions. It is a global issue, after all.

They won't do that, of course, but it could work and be fairly easy to do as filler between seasons of TWD.

Is it just me or are the "walkers" in this show considerably slower than those in TWD? It really appears that it wold be hard to be overtaken/overpowered by them. Seems like they are more aggressive in TWD.

I seem to remember in the TWD when they were at the CDC, it was explained to them that the walkers ARE faster in the beginning, but slow down as they get further away from being turned.

The walkers on this show are definitely slower and easier to kill/get away from.

That's what I recall too. That said, the Walkers on this show seem like they are moving in quick sand.

The new walkers aren't as smart as the month old one walkers from season one of TWD.

I wonder if Travis will be this show's version of Ned Stark. The actor has a bit of a name and showed promise early on. For me the thing is in the first episode where he was talking about survival and the character dieing because the character didn't have what it takes to survive.

As we have seen with Travis, he tried to convince Maddison that the zombies were sick and could possibly be helped. Then., he wouldn't take the shot on the diner girl. He's weak and not meant for this world. Even Dale had bigger cajones. Heck, Herschel even came around. Travis is zombie food for this episode and will probably do something heroic in the process. I just don't see him making it.

BTW, Flight 462 FTWD webisodes start this Sunday!

Go back and watch season 1 of TWD. The zombies were definitely much faster, and had some coordination - using a rock to break through a glass door. FWD zombies are slower than the ones in the latter seasons of TWD.

Yea but those zombies are from Georgia. Have you ever been to LA? Californians aren't that smart to begin with.
