Fear The Walking Dead Episode 2....spoilers

2 episodes in and a 2 week break should be followed by a 2 hour long episode with twice the action.

It's interesting how international the cast is. Travis, the "step dad," is from New Zealand. The druggie son is a Brit, the daughter is an Aussie.

Not doing much for me so far, lots of annoying illogical, unrealistic behavior. And it seems like every show has to have a drug addled main character{i.e. Robot Man}. Although I bought all in to the original premise of TWD, they are doing a poor job of showing me how the world went to hell and a hand basket with the original outbreak. I see a whole lot of societal and infrastructure breakdown caused by a few slow moving zombies stumbling around, seems like a lot of manufactured chaos.

Live viewers are huge when it comes to Nielsen ratings and other metrics
yup, hence all the storysync sites/apps + the talking dead show interactivity. They want to encourage you to watch it live, see the commercials, and count you. This past weekend I was not even thinking about the show on Sunday night, didn't try to watch until Tuesday and was like wtf, they didn't show it!

Dale was the worst character in TWD history. Travis is definitely a bit lame, but I'm not prepared to call him Dale quite yet.

Where the F did the military come from and how did they know they'd find a zombie in the backyard? That timing was a bit too fortuitous for my liking.

I don't think he'll be Dale for long.

Agree on the military appearing suddenly. I thought it was Daniel doing the shooting.

Imagine FTWD: Texas Edition..."Hey pal, you look like you got a little sniffle there." "Nah, I'm alrig.." BAM!!! BAM BAM!!!

The big thing that bugged me last night was that everything/vehicle in downtown LA was being effed up. But Travis's truck remained untouched. How fortuitous!

So I guess now the military is keeping anyone from leaving..

And Grizelda is totally going to become Grizombie.

Texas and Florida. You got to "stand your ground" against the zombie menace.

Agree on the truck, how that was not touched yet, while every other vehicle was in flames. ??

I don't care how nice your neighbor was, you walk in and he's eating your dog and you still don't want to take him down, wake up Trav, you just saw a dude eating a cop in the street and cops gunning down people at the hospital. Nearly getting burned alive in hiding out in a barbershop. Wake up.

And yeah, Nick I know you are a junkie and all, but how about take a freaking shower and wash your hair before you saddle up for a game of monopoly.

Despite the timely entrance sequence of the military, which I hated, not a bad episode overall.
I like the hesitation in killing, in the initial part of the outbreak where you know very little most people would be hesitant in blowing off the brains of people you know. But you do that to my dog and all bets are off, zombie outbreak or not.
Of note, zombies in FTWD appear to be exceptionally bad at biting in close quarters, maybe it's the Los Angeles weather.
On an additional note, there will be a zombies on a plane episode. They hinted about this with the weirdly tilting landing plane in last night's episode. One of the passengers on the plane would join the current cast.

It's interesting to watch from the perspective of a TWD viewer. You feel like you have so much knowledge to impart.

Yes, get all the guns and ammo and food you can!
Turn off your lights and stay away from the windows! Keep the noise down!
Head shots!
Don't worry about the trash - the pickup guys aren't coming today (or ever).

How many military vehicles and personnel would it take to have that same type of presence all over the sprawling Southern California region?

Yes, I'm OK with the initial hesitation, but they need to figure out a little faster that the "sick" people can't be reasoned with. It would help alot if people would share some information with their family/group members.

One contrast with the regular TWD is knowing the walkers personally. I don't think they've had that situation since Sophia. I hope in the season opener that Rick lets Deanna's husband turn and makes her or one of the other Alexandrites finish him off.

The communication is epic fail. I mean it's your family member. At they very least it's your duty to warn them that sick people could bite you

Maybe one day they will make a zombie show where the characters in the show have watched a movie about zombies before. That way we can skip this part where the audience wants to smack all of the main characters for being so stupid.

Watched some of Z Nation over the weekend. It's a little bit more light-hearted, with some of the comedic value of most zombie movies. They referenced Romero in the dialogue. Even had a tornado flinging zombies around, and they said "at least they aren't sharks."

No kidding, they are all walking around going " What's going on? Is everyone sick? Why are people walking around, moaning and trying to eat people?"

I'll tell you why? ZOMBIES!!!!

It's like the idea of zombies has never been thought of before, no movies, books, comics, nada.

That's the first thing I thought about. There were easily 50 soldiers in that one neighborhood. And LA area has over 10 million people ... I mean, I doubt the outbreak was that isolated that they were trying to quarantine neighborhoods one by one. Seemed like they were a pretty long ways from downtown, too.
