A search says I'll like "Breaking Bad"...I have watched a few of those but not like a start to finish like I did Ozark.
"American Gods"? "West World"...got through a lot of that but again didn't finish.

Breaking Bad is definitively better than Ozark. Similar show but better. WestWorld was the most confusing show I’ve ever watched. Made it thru Season 1 and bailed. Super cool and ambitious premise but I don’t want to think that hard when watching TV.

I’m a big Aaron Sorkin fan, so when I am out of things to watch I always fall back on The West Wing on Netflix. It may be off the air for close to 20 years but the writing and story telling might be the best I have ever seen.

Definitely Breaking Bad....my all-time favorite. As many have said, BB is much better than Ozark. Yellowstone is really good also.

i've been digging in to the appletv+ original content recently since i'm exhausting the regular gamut of popular choices. initially began with Ted Lasso since i like comedy, Jason Sudeikis and (ducking) soccer. i liked it enough to dig a bit further into their content and have been pretty hooked on "For All Mankind" and "Dickinson".

There's some great (but often gory) content on amazon prime and also from IMDB original shows available on prime.

OK...I've started "Breaking Bad"...so far I'm not sure if its supposed to be somewhat comedy in parts or I'm jaded? I guess I will see.

agreed. enjoy the show for the show and ignore the political undertones.

After your comment I looked up this show on Rotten Tomatoes and was somewhat surprised at some of the audience reaction. It wasn't too far into this series that my curiosity was peeked and I googled to see if this story was based on a real chess player. Judith Polgar is the only female to obtain a top 10 ranking and this story is not about her. Knowing this was a fictional character allowed me some room to accept what was being told. But from what some are posting the story pulled from actual events and inserted this female character on one side of the board. Would I be offended too if a director told the Bobby Bowden story with a fictional female lead? Would I accept a Pat Summit story with a fictional male lead? I don't think we would like it. My lack of actual chess history dulled my senses here to accept the premise of a female champion grandmaster. But for others it hit a nerve. Too bad Queen's Gambit was a very good and entertaining story with an even better ending.

Jesse (and his sidekicks that are introduced as the series progresses) do provide a humor break. Jesse's character evolves quite significantly through the seasons. There is always a humor aspect but the humor becomes more dark in later seasons.

Consider "Imposters." We have enjoyed it....not quite finished, but easy to watch and each installment is generally around 45-50 minutes.

I'll be the outlier here: I'm through three seasons of Breaking Bad and I don't really care for it. I actually haven't watched it for almost a year after struggling through so far.

Narcos
Gomorrah
Last Kingdom
Mindhunter
Manhunt: Unabomber
Waco
Kingdom
Cobra Kai
Meateater
Fauda
Last Chance U
Babylon Berlin
Dark
The Witcher
Suburra
Castlevania
Challenger
Blood of Zeus
Barbarians
Lenox Hill

I fizzled out in season 3 of Dark and did not finish it. I think they could have easily stopped with two seasons and had a very good show on their hands.

I think the payoff was pretty good. It did drag a little, but I think it was worth it.
Other good German shows are Barbarians, Babylon Berlin and Tribes of Europa.

I may finish it off based on your recommendation. I thought Barbarians was good. It reminded me of The Eagle which I thought was a very underrated and entertaining movie. The critics and a majority of the viewers disagreed though. The other two I have not seen.
