Is brutal. This is when a condo or townhouse is calling my name. But Sunday evening when there are 9-10 yard waste bags at the curb does give you some satisfaction -
Who's planting a garden this year? I'm just doing patio tomatoes. Easy.

I've got my garden boxes ready but haven't planted the seeds yet. Probably this weekend.

I've got a lot to do as nd would like to have a garden then year. Not sure if I'll get it done though...

Next weekend for me. There will be plenty of pruned tress and bushes by the side of the road. Santa got me a small electric chainsaw this year so I'm gonna put it to goo use.

I was telling someone earlier today that it's amazing how much everything greened up this week. I have already trimmed up some hedges and mowed the yard. And so it starts.....

It's been raining here for it seems like the past month. We have done a lot in the house already this morning though.

November through January sucks for me. I have two giant Sycamore trees. 6-7 bags of leaves every other week (mulched) is common. I have had as many as 12 bags. Lawn work is easy compared to that.

Working this weekend, but have been cleaning up down limbs and such.
Gonna plant spinach, leaf lettuce, peppers, maters, squash... But not until Mothers Day or some of it will get frost bit.
I am gonna try cold frames and seedlings this year for the first time, I hope.

I went to mow the lawn for the first time in several months and hit a tree stump with my 6 month old $400 Honda lawn mower and completely screwed up the crankshaft going to Home Depot tomorrow to see if I can get some warranty coverage

Put up a new garage door opener yesterday and going to get down and dirty in the yard later today...

Dug up and turned over a 30 foot long flower bed and filled it with a bunch of annuals.
Trimmed up a long hedge, some palms, and then went back to Lowes and dropped another $160. Lawn/leaf bags at the curb, I'm exhausted and sore.
Whew.

Put down pre-emergent today and got the sprinkler system trouble shooted and up and ready to go. Also cut back the Liriope.

I love our townhome. And my wife just bought some patio tomato plants this weekend.

Got an initial round started. The wife attacked the weeds, while I busted out the blower. Going to get an early season mow done this week so that I can put down some good weed and feed fertilizer and a round of bug spray. Also finally hooked up the hose to the rolling wheel so I can get it around the yard, and washed the cars.

I'm at the age where I enjoy a solidly made, efficient "right tool for the job". I need to upgrade my yard tool stuff, I think my kids are finally old enough where they'll quit leaving them in the woods.

Anybody have any good brands they recommend? I'm talking last shovel I'll ever buy type quality

Snow is melted and we are supposed to get some rain this week so if it dries up I will start in the yard this weekend. Put a couple hours in each day before the tournament games start then probably finish up the following weekend, assuming we don't get any more snow.

Last weekend I picked up some annuals for our planters and the small beds in front of the house and the tiny bed around teh mail box. I also trimmed the hedges and severly pruned my lorepetalum bushes. They will hopefully come out very bright pink soon. Then I did some tree pruning and hauled a huge pile of limbs/sticks/twigs out to the street. Also had a bunch of lawn bags full of crap but forgot to put them out...DOH. Finally last Monday I put out weed n' feed and bug stuff.

This past SaturdayI spent at my dad's place helping with his taxes, then tennis yesterday (ouch) so no yard work for me. I'll pick it up again probably this Saturday. Gotta rake up all those oak leaves that are dumping all over the yard/driveway every night.

I have some things to clear out of my yard and bushes and then I'm going to do a "Weed N Feed" treatment on the lawn. I have several areas of my lawn I'm going to re-sod throughout the spring and summer.

Goldie, I guess that there are still a few of us from the late 60's/early 70"s who still do the yard work, ourselves.... and, yes, the soreness is part of being an aged babyboomer. The sense of accomplishment is always enhanced with a glass of pinot grigio!

Little early for weed and feed. Wait until next month when when more have sprouted.

I just wait for the leaves to blow into the neighbors' yards and into the street.

I have spent the last 5 weekends busting my butt cleaning, pruning, cutting and hauling yard trash off. My wife asked why I was so motivated to work every weekend on the yard. I told her the first weekend the weather is nice and the seas are calm I will start diving again and there will no yard work out of me until the end of November. It looks like this weekend is going to be the start of the end of my yard work.

Got a trailer load of the 8' sunflowers all bundled. Have to haul them away myself sometime later. Many shrubs trimmed. Suckers from the trees cut. Sprinkler heads fixed. Flowers dead-headed. Lawn mowing this evening. Propane cylinder refilled.

tell that to my yard....

I got down and dirty this week and paid $1,250.00 to the yard guy to trim everything WAY BACK, weed the planters, mulch, trees, palms you name it.

I was whipped when I got done writing that check.

We finally had sun on Sunday- we have had such a wet winter--attacked the mold build up around the house, garage door and shutters. Laid down my first of a series of poisons for our war on fire ants and crazy ants....
