Jimbo will be holding his weekly press conference around 1 p.m. We'll have updates right here.
Fisher said he liked a lot about the game. "Very proud" of the leverage they played with on defense, not getting confused by their tricky offense. Only had the one big breakdown. But still "so many little things" that really can take defense to next level.
On offense, said Everett did a "nice job" but has plenty of little things to correct. Also liked the way the line played and the WRs. Thought the RBs played well but missed a few cuts.
Looking at USF, he said they are playing "extremely hard" on defense. Look physical. He said they've gone spread on offense to take advantage of their athletic ability on the perimeter.
Looking back at Everett's performance, he said he played well but even on some of the big positive plays there were things he could improve on. Got a "ways to go" but can be very good.
Rod was the best offensive linemen. Said the guards did well too, and Martinez and Ruble did well for young players.
Dalvin was the player of game on offense. Jalen and Newberry were players of game on defense. Defensively, Walker, Smith, Brutus also played well
Really raving about Newberry. Said he played great football and can be a force. When asked why he's better now, he said he's decided he wanted to be a football player.
Jimbo talking about the defense. Said really likes their physical play and hustling. Said he thinks the defense is "hungry" and has a "chip on their shoulder."
Fisher on the WRs ... said you can see how well the passing game can be when they run good routes. He's been hard on them, but he said the passing game can be "pretty" when they run good routes. He's going to keep pushing them.
Asked about the risk of having Ramsey on kick returns. Jimbo very defensive ... says did anyone worry about Deion returning punts? He said it would be dumber to not get the ball to your best athletes. He loves Ramsey back there clearly.
Featherston probably not ready this week, but soon.
Fisher asked about USF's mobile QB ... he said big key is hitting a mobile QB a lot and make sure he pays for running it. And then taking good angles on back end.
Fisher said the USF defense is very impressive. He said FSU recruited several of their players.
On Ryan Izzo's first start, Jimbo said he was very pleased. Loved his blocking. "Really, really" good football game.
About the game being at 11:30, Jimbo said that's why they scrimmaged each time at 11:30. Wanted to get the game-day routine (early wakeup, breakfast, etc) so this wouldn't be a tough thing.
Really praising Freddie Stevenson ... saying he can be special. Did a great job of springing big plays.
On the defensive line, very happy with the depth. Says the depth of this team is going to be big. They plan to play a lot of guys on both sides of the ball all year. Want to keep them healthy and take advantage of that depth.
Talking about the freshmen, was very happy with all of them. Sweat and Derwin played well. Said he wanted Sweat to play a little harder in the fourth quarter, but was very happy early. On Derwin, said he showed that he has better coverage skills than people think.
Jimbo really praising Mario Pender and Dalvin Cook. Likes having them both on the field at the same time. He said Pender played well and can be a good weapon.
All right, that's about it. We'll have video up and more coverage coming.
