My son just started working the Gadsden Truelieve farm. He said he spent the first day burying hundreds of pounds of weeds that had the thc extracted.

Florida needs to stop playing with this. I’m so angry at how legislators ignored the will of the people that I’m actually voting Dem across the ticket next race.

Opioids aren't for muscle spasms antispasmodics are for muscle relaxers.

Yes, I know that.........the pain is from the constant bone on skin contact which exacerbates the length and the severity of my spasms. Back before catching my one and only pressure sore which resulted in getting infected with MRSA leading to the said bone on skin contact, my spasticity level from sitting in my wheelchair all day was ~3 (on a scale from 1-10)..........now that same spasticity level from sitting in my wheelchair all day is ~5+. Also, methadone has a positive side effect that separates it from other opiates (especially for someone like me), it has been shown to have neuropathic analgesic qualities.

40mg methadone is for drug addicts trying to kick the heroin habit

I was on the 10mg methadones 4 times/day, and it's the 60mg pills that are used as blockers for heroin (though subutex is the preferred method now) and every heroin addict I talked with at 12 Oaks was on 120+mg/day (completely blew my mind, the highest was 240).

Your in P'Cola? no offense to my hometown but P'Cola has a helluva pill-mill problem.

Not sure where you get your information from, but even before Florida shut down the pill mills 5 years ago, South Florida was where the pill mills were located (I-75 was known as the "oxy express").

I'm pain/addiction nurse. The MD I work specializes in medication management of chronic pain patients.

Btw 120mg of methadone is highest blocking dose. Although I've see 360mg qday before.

My first comment was just something I found interesting. They are growing all this and extracting the THC and leaving useless plants. A lot of them.

My second comment was about the legislature ignoring the public will. We passed a compassionate medical marijuana amendment by a large percentage. The intent was clearly to allow normal medical marijuana. The legislature responded with restrictive statutes that don't allow plant or edibles as I recall, but only allows some low THC BS. I am sick and damn tired of the legislators trying to impose their moral will on the rest of the populace.

P'Cola has the same problem as South Florida.

P'Cola was nothing compared to South Florida, and like I said before all that changed when Florida passed the Pill Mill law.

In 2010, before the new state law went into effect, Florida doctors sold almost 46 million oxycodone tablets. In 2011, that number had dropped by 97 percent — to 1.2 million pills.

My wife was prescribed oxy for the pain after her (second) ACL surgery (also did the ALL and removed a lot of the meniscus that was damaged).
Had the doc visit to register and is still waiting for approval.

DOH and the legislature have handled this poorly. Can’t imagine why anyone thinks it is reasonable to have to wait over a week after a surgery to obtain pain meds.

And that’s without getting into the absurd central economic planning aspect (X stores allowed, etc).

The statute is pretty cumbersome and quite indicative of how useless our legislature is. I was wrong about edibles, apparently, but I believe I am correct that it's ALL low-THC BS. I wish we would just legalize the stuff. This is dumb.

It’s not all low-THC. I will agree that DOH has been a mess drafting and implementing rules.
