Myself, Ira and Aslan will be in Doak Campbell today taking in FSU's first spring scrimmage. We will provide updates from the scrimmage as they happen in this post. Keep in mind that we are unable to mention injuries until after we speak to coach Norvell. Also, there is still a prohibition against shooting photos or video.
------
The first team defense stepped up to end the scrimmage. A. Gainer with a big hit followed by J. Jones forcing a fumble. That's it for now.

-----
More Rodemaker. He hooked up with walk on Parker Self for 20 yards. But he overthrew a wide open
Darion Williamson for what should have been a TD.

------
Rodemaker back out with the 2s. Nice 16-yard toss to Burrell . Also, a 15-yard run by Toafili and an 18 yard catch by J. Douglas. Drive finished with a 27-yard FG by Fitzgerald.

----
An ugly series for the offense. A couple bad snaps and a near pick by E. Rice on J. Travis.

----
Another Rodemaker drive but this one much better for the offense. A couple long pass plays to McClain of 16 and 45 yards (TD). A lot of walk on DBs.

FYI - so far, T. Ward has 11 carries for 122 yards and 2 TDs

-----
Rodemaker with the 2s. Quality drive highlighted by a 22-yard completion to McClain and a 19-yard TD to Poitier (beat walk on DB) on a third and 15 play. T. Ward with another 20+ yard run on the drive.

-----
Milton back with the 1st. Defense had the offense in a hole but Toafili took a screen pass 47 yards on a third and 11. C. Wren with a couple nice runs showing off his speed. The defense stopped the offene on the goal line on a 4th and 1 play. However, on third down Milton probably would have scored but the whistle blew because of the non-conact on QBs.

------
Rodemaker with the 2s. A three and out

-----
Now doing some special teams work.

-----
Threes were out there led by Gino English. Not much happening here.

-----
J. Travis back out with the offense starting at mid field. Big day for T. Ward. He busted off a 36 yard TD run. He made an ankle-breaking move on B. Gant on the way to the sscore. The other highlight was a nice leaping catch by D. Sheffield on a third down play to pick up the first. Offense is rolling today....

-----------
Rodemaker was out there with the 2s and completed a couple long passes - 44 yards to J. Young and 31 to Poitier. The defense eventually held but Fitzgerald did hit the field goal.

----
Milton led the offense on a really efficient 13 play 96 yard drive. He was 6 for 7 for 71 yards. Highlights were a 27 yarder to McDonald and a 22 yard pass to Toafili. Most were short passes where he was able to buy time and hit the receiver in stride. Toafili also had a 18 yard run on the drive. Ward finished it off with a 9-yard TD run.

------
J. Travis had a series with the 2s but not much happening. He did hit J. Burrell for an 8-yard pass. B. Moore and Brownlee blew up the third down pass behind the LOS.

-----

M. Milton led the offense what was mostly 1s vs. 1 on a nice drive that got inside the 5-yard line. The defense had a tremendous stand on the goal line preventing the TD. I counted six plays inside the five. Toafili and Ward had a couple nice runs. Milton hit on a couple short passes but was off on a couple more. Fitzgerald kicked the field goal.

Rodemaker and the offense didn't do much on the next series. B. Moore had nice "tight" coverage on the the third down play.

-----
Offense looking sharp on the first drive of the scrimmage. Jordan Travis led the offense on a 10-play 75-yard TD drive. A lot of running plays but the highlight was a 28-yard throw and juggling catch by O. Wilson. The drive finished with a 2-yard T- Ward TD run. It was mostly 1s vs 1s with a few players subbing in.

-----
Started out with some situational plays near the goal line. Five total plays. The only true TD was J. Travis to O. Wilson on the first play. Travis could have run for a couple other TDs but either elected to throw or there was a quick whistle. Milton ran two plays with the second team both resulted in incompletions. Both throws could have been completed but were just a bit off the mark.

----

Team is out warming up. Kickers and punters got in some work. Skill players were also out returning punts. Counted nine players working on punt returns so that job is very open. Saw one miss on field goals so pretty good there (no rush just kickers and holders)

Loud music is blaring in the stadium. That's probably a result of the couple dozen recruits that are on hand to watch practice.
