Marvin A. "Whitey" Urquhart, who quarterbacked the FSU football team in the 1948 and 1949 seasons, passed away this afternoon (Mon, June 29) at his Lynn Haven, FL home just outside Panama City. He had been ill from cancer for an extended period of time.

Urquhart, originally from Bonifay, went to Alabama before transferring to FSU. He was a very successful personal injury attorney in Panama City for a number of years. Whitey went to all of FSU's home games until his health began to deteriorate. He was also an avid quail hunter and had part ownership of a 1,500 acre farm dubbed Quail Run that is located near the Washington-Bay County lines.
