One of the interesting things about South Florida High School Football is you'll never know who you might run into at a game or practice.

On Monday, it was former Florida State rover Derrick Gibson. Gibson was a USA Today All-American at Miami Killian and starred at FSU. He spent four seasons with the Seminoles before he was drafted 28th by the Oakland Raiders in 2001. He was with the Raiders until 2006 and then retired afterward.

We got a chance to catch up with Gibson, who is now an assistant at Miami Central.

Here's where you can read the story:

-----------------------------
Yesterday, we posted some remarks Gibson had about Jalen Ramsey.

Here's what he had to say:

"I think he'll start off playing nickel or at free safety. I think eventually he'll get to the corner," Gibson said. "He'll be a press corner in the league. But I think he'll be fine. He's in a great situation. I like what Jacksonville's done, what Jacksonville did throughout the whole draft and what they did last year.

"I think he's in a good situation with Telvin up there too. I think he'll be fine. I think he'll have a 10-year plus career and I think he'll be fine."
