I use an app called theScore instead of ESPN to keep up with sports news and scores.
There was an article about the FSU/Alabama game being sold out that contained a reference to the historical series between the two schools. The article said: "The two programs have only met three times in their storied history, with Alabama winning two and the other game finishing in a tie."
I decided to email the app makers and point out that FSU beat Alabama 21-14 on 9/29/07. They replied they would update the article shortly.
The article now reads: "The two programs have only met three times in their storied history, with Alabama winning two and the other game finishing in a tie. A Fourth meeting happened in 2007, but Florida State's victory was vacated as part of disciplinary rulings by the NCAA for an academic-fraud scandal."
I'd be lying if I said that didn't piss me off, but I guess technically, it's accurate. Amazing that FSU has had to pay this price when places like PSU get away with Joe Paterno statues, wins, etc.
