The No. 7 Florida State beach volleyball team completed a perfect weekend on Saturday to sweep the Stetson Beach Blast in DeLand, Fla. The Seminoles defeated Erskine and Palm Beach Atlantic 5-0 to move to 18-3.
FSU opened play on Saturday against Erskine, winning 5-0. The Noles defeated the Fleet on all courts in straight sets. The Seminoles were dominant, winning by 14 points in the second set on two separate courts and winning by a 16-point margin on court three in set one.
The Seminoles carried their momentum into the second match of the day against Palm Beach Atlantic, which saw the Noles dominate the Sail Fish 5-0. The Seminoles won all five courts in just two sets.
Florida State will be back in action next weekend in Baton Rouge to participate in the Death Volley Invitational. FSU will open play against No. 1 UCLA at 10:15 a.m. Eastern Time, followed by No. 4 Southern Cal at 3:15 p.m. On Saturday, the Seminoles will play No. 5 Stanford before closing the weekend against No. 8 Long Beach State.
