The No. 7 Florida State beach volleyball team completed an undefeated weekend on Saturday and won the annual Seminole Beach Bash. The Seminoles swept Houston Christian and No. 15 Georgia State to move to 9-0 in 2025.
The Seminoles opened the day on Saturday with a sweep over the Huskies. Carra Sassack and Bailey Higgins struck first on court two with a quick two-set victory. McKenna Flaherty and Kyleene Filimaua quickly followed, winning court five 21-12, 21-14. Madison Binkley and Makenna Wolfe won court four 21-16, 21-12. Gella Andrew and Maddie Trusty went the extra mile on Set 2 on court three to win the match in two sets. Audrey Koenig and Alexis Durish then completed the sweep on court one.
FSU then faced the 15th-ranked Georgia State Panthers in a rematch from Friday, which the Noles won 5-0. Sassack and Higgins continued their dominance, winning court three 21-9, 21-15. Durish and Koenig won court one in two sets quickly before Flaherty and Filimaua took court four. The final two courts of the duel entered third sets, which the Seminoles secured to complete the sweep. The duel was highlighted by a highly competitive second set on court two that was decided by Andrew and Trusty, 25-23.
Florida State will be back in action Friday against Texas and TCU, and Saturday against Florida Atlantic and Boise State as part of the TCU Invitational. Live stats will be available on Seminoles.com.
