The No. 6 Florida State beach volleyball team opens its 2025 season in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, as part of the Beach Burg Invitational starting Friday. The Seminoles will play North Alabama, No. 8 LSU, Spring Hill College, FGCU, and Southern Miss in the two-day tournament.

Florida State is coming off a 31-8 season in 2024 that saw its seventh CCSA championship, an undefeated 13-0 record at home, and an appearance in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament. Three returning Seminoles – Alexis Durish, Audrey Koenig, and Anna Long – were named to the 2024 CCSA All-Conference Team and head coach Brooke Niles was named CCSA Coach of the Year. Niles enters 2025 with 263 career wins, making her the winningest coach in NCAA beach volleyball history.

The Seminoles open the weekend against North Alabama. FSU leads the all-time series against the Lions 1-0, sweeping them on April 5, 2024. North Alabama posted a 22-13 record in 2024, making it to the semifinal round of the ASUN Tournament before falling to FGCU.

FSU will then play No. 8 LSU for the first of two in-season matchups. The Seminoles lead the all-time series with the Tigers 25-3. Florida State won the previous match against LSU 3-0 on April 26, 2024, in the semifinals of the CCSA tournament. LSU accumulated a 27-12 record in 2024 and made it to the semifinals of the NCAA tournament before falling to No. 2 UCLA.

Florida State will wrap up Friday against Spring Hill College. This marks the first meeting between the Seminoles and the Badgers in program history. Spring Hill finished the 2024 season with an 18-16 record, winning the bronze bracket in the AVCA Small College Beach Championship.

On Saturday, the Seminoles begin play against FGCU. Florida State leads the all-time series with the Eagles 6-0, most recently sweeping them in Boca Raton on March 12, 2024. FGCU finished the 2024 season with a 17-20 record and made it to the semifinals of the ASUN Tournament before falling to Stetson.

The Seminoles will complete the weekend against Southern Miss. FSU leads the all-time series with the Golden Eagles 5-0, last winning 5-0 on April 7, 2023. Southern Miss compiled a 14-24 record in 2024.

Florida State opens play on Friday against North Alabama at 11:40 a.m., followed by LSU at 1:50 p.m. and Spring Hill College at 8:20 p.m. On Saturday, FSU will play FGCU at 11:10 a.m., then close the weekend against Southern Miss at 3:30 p.m. Live stats will be available on Seminoles.com.
