The Florida State men’s tennis team concludes non-conference play with a ranked road match against No. 9 Texas A&M on Sunday afternoon.
FSU will face Texas A&M at 2 p.m. ET at the Mitchell Tennis Center. The Seminoles and Aggies will meet for the first time since 2017. All-ACC honorees Guy Iradukunda and Lucas Poullain each dominated in singles play with straight-set victories on Courts 2 and 3 in the last matchup.
Florida State holds a 7-3 record following a nine-match homestand spanning from January 11-February 8. During that stretch, FSU clinched six sweeping victories including a second consecutive 4-0 victory over Florida in the first meeting at home since 2015.
Jamie Connel leads the team in total wins with 14 victories through February with four ranked wins and four Court 1 wins. Corey Craig has claimed 10 victories through his first season as a Seminole; the All-American has five ranked wins.
Joshua Dous-Karpenschif and Azariah Rusher have found great rhythm with each player claiming five plus singles wins on the back courts through the opening 10 matches. Dous-Karpenschif and Erik Schiessl are unbeaten at 6-0 on Court 2 in doubles play with five consecutive wins in all matches and four wins over ranked pairings.
The newest ITA rankings were released Thursday. Craig checked in at No. 19 in the singles poll while Connel retained his top-50 ranking at No. 43. Alex Bulte and Youcef Rihane checked in at No. 5 in the doubles ranking, Connel and Craig moved to No. 57 in the nation.
