Tennis FSU men to play in NCAA Championship at South Carolina

The No. 19 Florida State men’s tennis team will begin its journey in the 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Tennis Team Championship in Columbia, South Carolina. The Seminoles meet Southern Conference champion Samford in the first round.

FSU joins #13 South Carolina, Samford, and VCU in the Columbia regional for the opening rounds of the championship. The Seminoles face Samford on Friday at 2 p.m. before hosts South Carolina take on Atlantic 10 champion VCU at 5 p.m. The winners from the first round matches meet on Saturday at 5 p.m. to advance to the third round the following weekend.

Florida State achieved its fourth consecutive 15+ win season following an 18-8 season. The Seminoles earned nine wins in conference play for the first time since 2018 and have reached the ACC Championship quarterfinals in 13 consecutive completed seasons.

Head coach Dwayne Hultquist has led the Seminoles to their 21st appearance in the tournament in the past 22 completed seasons. Last season, FSU reached the Third Round after a first round sweep over North Florida and 4-1 win at home against UCF. The Seminoles have reached the second round in six consecutive seasons and advanced to the third round of play in two of the last three seasons.

The ACC announced its 2025 All-ACC Men’s Tennis Teams on Thursday. Junior Corey Craig was named to the All-ACC Singles First Team in his debut season for the garnet and gold. Craig is currently ranked as the No. 16 player in the nation with an 18-6 record on Court 1 and 11 ranked wins.

Jamie Connel earned a second straight All-ACC Singles selection following his All-ACC Singles Second Team honor this season. Connel finished his regular season with a 24-9 singles record with 12 Court 2 wins and eight ACC victories. Alex Bulte and Youcef Rihane were named to the All-ACC Doubles Second Team. The All-Americans claimed 19 doubles wins with 11 Court 1 wins and eight nationally ranked wins.
