No. 7 Florida State men’s golf team joins a talented field on Monday when it begins at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational at Floridian Golf Club in Palm City, Fla. The Seminoles tee off at 8 a.m. with 36 holes of golf on Monday, followed by the final round on Tuesday.

The 16-team field also includes Houston, Texas Tech, North Carolina, Arizona State, Georgia Southern, Pepperdine, Texas A&M, Wake Forest, Ohio State, Northwestern, Texas, Duke, Marquette, Minnesota and Lamar.

Making the trip for the Seminoles are Frederik Kjettrup, Cole Anderson, Luke Clanton, Brett Roberts, Jack Bigham and Gray Albright.

Albright, who is playing as an individual, is coming off his first collegiate title after winning the Seminole Intercollegiate at the Seminole Legacy Golf Club. Kjettrup has also won a tournament this spring season, winning the Watersound Invitational in Panama City Beach.

Through the entire 2022-23 year so far, Kjettrup leads Florida State with an average score of 69.78 and a -1.39 average score vs. par. He forms an accomplished triumvirate with Anderson (70.14) and Roberts (70.43) to make the Seminoles one of the most formidable men’s golf groups in the country.

Florida State is coming off an incredibly dominant win at the Seminole Intercollegiate where it shot 14-under at its home course and won the tournament by 38 strokes, as North Alabama came in second place at 24-over.

The Seminoles have won at least won tournament for six consecutive seasons, and have won at least one tournament in 11 of the last 12 seasons.
