The Florida State volleyball team (18-8, 12-2) has been selected as this week’s NCAA Women’s Volleyball Team of the Week following back-to-back wins at home.
The Seminoles had a monumental win on Friday defeating No. 6 Pittsburgh (21-4, 12-2) in five sets, 3-2 (25-18, 25-21, 23-25, 18-25, 16-14). It was the highest ranked win at home in program history. The Noles carried the momentum into Sunday’s match defeating Virginia (9-15, 2-12) in four sets, 3-1 (28-26, 25-14, 12-25, 25-8). The two wins elevated Florida State into a four-way tie for first place in ACC Standings.
Kiari Robey, the ACC Defensive Player of the Week, had outstanding performances in both matches as she finished the weekend with a team leading 20 blocks, averaging 2.22 blocks per set. Team leaders from last week’s matches were Audrey Koenig with 29 kills, Kenna Phelan with eight aces, Kyleene Filimaua with 26 digs, and Andjelija Draskovic with 44 assists.
Florida State looks to continue their win streak at Syracuse on Friday at 6 p.m. They return home for a rivalry match against Miami on Sunday at 1 p.m.
