FSU sports information:

Jazzy Francik threw a three-hit shutout as the No. 9 Florida State softball team (37-6) defeated Saint Mary's (18-17) on Wednesday afternoon in Moraga, Calif.

The Seminoles got right to work offensively as Isa Torres and Kennedy Harp hit back-to-back singles to put the Noles on the board. Jahni Kerr continued her hot streak with a single to left to put the Noles up 2-0 after one.

Francik was phenomenal for the Seminoles as she retired the first 10 batters she faced, six via strikeout. The Gaels got their first hit of the day on a bunt single in the fourth inning, but Francik struck out another batter to end the inning.

Katie Dack took the first pitch she saw in top of the sixth inning to the deepest part of the park over the center field wall to put the Seminoles up 3-0. It was Dack's 11th home run of the season.

The Gaels got back-to-back hits to start the seventh inning, but the rally stopped there as Francik forced a flyout, groundout and a pop up to strand the runners and finish her complete game.

Francik threw the first complete game by a Seminole this season and recorded a career-high 12 strikeouts while giving up just three hits. Francik's 12 strikeouts are the most by a Seminole since Meghan King had 13 strikeouts on April 16, 2019, against Boston College. Francik improved to 7-2 with the win.

FSU will return to ACC play on Friday when they take on Cal at 6 p.m. on ACCNX.
