Four different Seminoles combined for five goals as the No. 2 Florida State soccer team (3-0-0) ran away from USF (2-3-0) in a 5-1 win in the home opener on Sunday afternoon at the Seminole Soccer Complex. The Noles are now unbeaten in their last 20 home openers and have won 12 consecutive matches against teams in the state of Florida.

It was the Jordynn Dudley show in the first 55 minutes as the true freshman scored her first career goal in the eighth minute to give the Noles a 1-0 lead. Dudley intercepted the ball on USF's side of the field and dribbled all the way down, beating her defender and leaving herself with a one-on-one chance with the goalie, and she converted to give the Noles the lead. The Noles dominated possession for the entirety of the match and held a 9-1 shots advantage to take a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Dudley got the scoring going in the second half in the 53rd minute as she intercepted another pass and took a shot just beyond the box that bounced off the goalkeeper's hands and in. Dudley became the first freshman to record a multi-goal game since Jody Brown in 2020 against Clemson.

The Seminoles continued to apply pressure as they took advantage of a corner kick where Taylor Huff played a perfect ball to Onyi Echegini who converted for her second goal of the season to extend the lead to 3-0 in the 59th minute. Olivia Garcia was fouled inside of the box and converted on her penalty kick to give her a goal on her birthday in the 69th minute. The Bulls responded with a goal of their own in the 82nd minute, but Leah Pais scored her first goal as a Seminole on a penalty kick in the 83rd minute.

The Seminoles were dominant as they held a 26-2 shot advantage over the Bulls. 18 different Seminoles saw action today and 13 of them recorded a shot. Cristina Roque picked up her third win of the season as she played all 90 minutes in the goal for the Noles.

Florida State will be back in action on Thursday when they take on North Florida in Jacksonville, Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN+.
