Game 1 (Florida State 8 Oregon State 0; 5 inn.)
There was no sluggish start for the Seminoles in game one against the Beavers as they run ruled Oregon State 8-0 in five innings.
Jaysoni Beachum was the first baserunner aboard for the Seminoles in the top of the first as she drew a four-pitch walk. Kennedy Harp hit her nation-leading eighth triple on the first pitch she saw to give the Noles the early 1-0 lead.
Shelby McKenzie led off the second inning with an infield single, and Amaya Ross doubled to put two runners in scoring position for the Noles. Annabelle Widra hit a fly ball to center field to score McKenzie, and Isa Torres hit a double to score Ross to make it 3-0. Harp picked up her second hit of the day on a little pop up that squirted away from the second baseman to allow Torres to score. Harp stole second to move into scoring position, and Michaela Edenfield brought her home on a single up the middle to make it 5-0.
Hallie Wacaser led off the top of the third inning with a no-doubt home run to left field to make it 6-0. Wacaser picked up two more RBI in the top of the fourth to give the Noles the 8-0 lead.
Freshman Jazzy Francik was terrific in the circle for the Noles as she pitched five scoreless innings and allowed just three hits while striking out six. Francik improved to 3-1 on the season and became the first Nole this season to pitch a complete game.
