The No. 6 Florida State soccer team (7-0-2, 2-0-1 ACC) travels to No. 4 Wake Forest (8-2-2, 3-1-1 ACC) for its first ranked road match of the season on Thursday night. The Seminoles currently hold a 15-game unbeaten streak in conference play dating back to 2022.
Florida State meets Wake Forest for the first time since Maria Alagoa’s 97th-minute winning goal to send the Seminoles to the 2021 ACC Championship match. FSU has won the last four matches over the Demon Deacons dating back to 2018.
FSU remains unbeaten in the last six matches against top-10 ranked opponents, winning five top-10 matchups last season and 17 top-10 victories in the past four seasons.
The Seminoles continue to extend and break program records on their impressive run dating back to last season. Florida State has scored in 43 straight games and holds a 32-game unbeaten streak, both of which are program records.
FSU currently possesses a 12 game unbeaten streak on the road, one shy of matching its program best set back in 2015. The Seminoles have also recorded six shutouts to start the season and haven't conceded more than two goals in a game in the past 19 matches.
The reigning national champions completed eight games unbeaten before securing their first ACC shutout of the season in a 3-0 victory over Clemson. Mimi Van Zanten scored the first goal off the crossbar just minutes before World Cup returner Taylor Suarez secured the second goal. Lara Dantas sealed the game with a precise long-range shot to return to winning ways.
Taylor Huff leads the squad in all scoring categories with eight goals and five assists for 21 total points inside September. Huff is the fastest to reach 20+ points in the past five seasons and is only 7 points away from reaching her point tally from last season.
