The Florida State women’s tennis team is set to host Georgia State and Mercer in a doubleheader beginning on Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center.
Florida State enters the weekend with a 3-1 record and a nine-match home winning streak dating back to last season. FSU is 8-0 all-time against both Georgia State and Mercer, most recently defeating the Panthers 4-0 and the Bears 6-1 in 2024.
FSU returns home after a week break, most recently competing in a doubleheader against No. 23 UCF and Bethune-Cookman in Orlando.
The Seminoles recently received two national rankings from the latest ITA poll. Freshman Mary Boyce Deatherage ranked No. 119 in singles, while duo Millie Bissett and Maria Juliana Parra Romero ranked No. 34 in doubles. Deatherage is 4-0 in singles this spring and 9-1 overall this season. Bissett and Parra Romero, who advanced to the quarterfinal round at the ITA Southeast Regional Championship in the fall, are 6-3 as a pair this season.
