The No. 24 Florida State women’s tennis team is headed to Orlando for a doubleheader with No. 23 UCF and Bethune-Cookman on Saturday at noon and 4:00 p.m. at the USTA National Campus.
Florida State and UCF will meet after both were unable to travel to their respective host sites for ITA Kickoff Weekend due to the recent winter storm.
FSU opened its season with two 4-0 victories Sunday against Alabama State and looks to bring that momentum into its matchups on Saturday. The Noles are 10-2 all-time against the Knights, and this will be the fourth time the two schools have played with both ranked in the top 25. FSU's last match with Bethune-Cookman came in 2006, resulting in a 7-0 victory.
Sophomore Maelie Monfils is coming off two singles victories last weekend to improve her spring record to 3-1 while Mary Boyce Deatherage also looks to continue her hot start to her freshman campaign after beginning the spring season undefeated in singles at 4-0.
