Gardening anyone?

I have tomatoes and just some basil and mint planted.
I’m not a fan of chickens and besides I live in a semi-zero lot line HOA. If I had ten acres somewhere I’d consider them.

Mrs. Ed has all kinds of fruits and veggies going; we have all veggie dinners at least twice a week, and it's awesome. Even eggplant, which I really don't like, tastes pretty good when it's fresh and ripe. Her gardens are her passion these days.

A lot of my friends have chickens, but I don’t think they’re welcome in Killearn. (Although goats live on golf courses in Ireland)

I’ve got some veggies going. I’ll get some more from Native Nurseries.

Green onions are easy to grow. Just put the ends in water until they root.

Wow, Native Nurseries stand the test of time. That is a fun place to visit.

I love the place.

They also have a lot of workshops.

You really know what you’re getting.

Espositos is trying to be better with heirlooms in addition to regular plants, but they’re not of the same quality as NN.

Whoa!

Did you get banned?

I thought that was impossible there.
Lol I think so. I can view the website and different pages on it but once I click on one of the forums I get a page that says:

"The page requested cannot be viewed

I didn't get an email or anything about it. Not sure if that's what they do when they put someone in timeout or not. But I can view every other board I tried looking at on the Rivals network. So guessing it's gotta be a lil temp timeout. But I don't even know what I did or said that would have made it happen. I've been pretty tame lately :)

That's odd.

Posters there post porn and I report it and it doesn't get removed.

Keep me updated.

That is not a standard message one gets when they get warned or banned.

Hmmm, interesting. I get it on both my computer and phone when I attempt to get on the message board. And I just noticed that even when I'm logged out of my account, it still happens. But only on the Iowa boards, nowhere else.

Edit: Ha. Used Firefox and it allows me in now. @DFSNOLE thank you for providing that lil tidbit of info about it not being a standard message.

My partner just expressed her desire for backyard chickens, again. She has carefully researched our local ordinances about keeping chickens. I am passively supportive of these endeavours.
Living where we do, we have lots of neighbors with chickens and growing stuff. We gets eggs for $2 dozen and lots of free vege's............

Not a garden dude, but miss my Key Lyme tree and orange/lemon/mango trees from when we lived in St. Pete.....................

We have a few neighbors with chickens, but people are pretty stingy with their eggs :). We get so much fruit and lettuces, though. All winter we were trading lemons for satsumas, clementines, oranges, etc. We also have been inundated with avocados and yellow mangoes.

Bet your yard smells good!
It really does! We have a giant rosemary bush in one corner and a bunch of lavender plants around. The basil and mint are potted, but very successful. We have a sideyard that we let grow wild with native wildflowers, and out of nowhere a beautiful lily sprouted up this spring. We also have a couple of rose bushes that are left over from the previous owner. One of our neighbors is a serious gardener, and we benefit from her tremendous success with roses, as well.

I love hearing these stories.
I’m working on it with my group.

I’ve had to learn what I can grow here. Going from zone 6 to zone 9 is a big change. Timing, harvest etc.

However I have figured out how to grow lettuce here. Put it in a hanging planter, water frequently and keep out of the sun.

May I ask where you live? I'm a South Florida transplant in the western Florida panhandle. I've found some decent substitutes for key limes that survive our winters (mostly).
