I was showing my wife the video last night and I realized then it was probably more than likely fake.

The engineering was real, that I believe.

But I believe the first guy who opened the package had the same type of uppity voice as the designer. He didn’t sound like a guy who be stealing a package.

So I’m not surprised...and it’s still impressive!

From reading the article, the who thing wasn't fake, only part of it. The part that was fake was when he gave the device to a friend to place on their front porch. Since he was going to use the footage from that, he told them he would pay them for the footage, so they staged someone stealing it and reacting to it.

Supposedly the actual engineering is legit, as were the scenes when the package was stolen from his own house.

I thought it was probably fake the first time because the first guy's reaction seemed fake, but based on what you're saying that part was real?
