I'm a big Michigan fan right now.

Michigan is one of the historically significant teams impacting FSU's unique history and started playing in the 19th century. They have a common link with other teams in our history and their series with uf:

Each of these teams began playing in the 19th century & have historical significance to both FSU & UF.

For FSU:

Michigan St: FSU has never lost to Mich St. In 1987, FSU beat the Spartans 31-3 in East Lansing. It was the first big win of the first season of FSU's historic 14-year dynasty run. Michigan State finished the season ranked #8 & Big10 & Rose Bowl champs.

Michigan: FSU has a tied record all-time against Michigan. In 1991, FSU went into the Big House against the #3 Wolverines & gave them the worst loss at Michigan Stadium in the history of the program at the time. It was the first time a team had scored so much on them since the 1950's.

Notre Dame: FSU has a 6-2 all-time record against the Irish. Thanks to ND losing to BC in 1993, it sent FSU to their first national championship game. In 2003, FSU went to South Bend & gave ND the 2nd worst home loss in Irish history, beating them 37-0.

Nebraska: FSU also has a 6-2 all-time record against Nebraska. FSU got the attention of the nation in 1980 when they went to Lincoln and beat the #3 ranked Cornhuskers at their house. From 1988-94, FSU & Nebraska squared off in 4 bowl games with FSU winning all of them, including beating them for our first national championship in 1993.

These teams have all been involved in games of historical significance for FSU's program and they've even taken some historic losses at FSU's hand. The Noles currently hold a 15-5 record against these teams all-time.

What about the gators? The gators have played each of these teams and have never beaten any of them, not even a tie. Ever. Not even once.

I would like that trend to continue with another loss to Michigan for the gators.
