The days of funding any script that's printed in courier new or has a high dollar star attached to it, have passed.
Studios saw a lot of crappy movies flop as consumers decided they didn't want to spend $14.50 on tix (plus $100 on popcorn/drinks). Now there's beginning to be more of a focus on quality movies that draw you to a theater -- movies better enjoyed with groups, date nights, that can create timely/topical conversations outside of the theater, and of course high price franchise special effects blockbusters.
