Just received a text that The Red Bar in Grayton Beach was engulfed in flames within the hour. A Panhandle icon gone.

But better, I’d assume. How Did they have plans already drawn up so quickly?
Not sure on the plans being drawn up, but he stated he would build it back just the same outside of making the bar area slightly bigger. Louie Louie’s, his brother and dads restaurant are about to start renovating as well.

Very sorry to hear that. My wife and I ate there a few years ago while staying in South Walton. It was great.

Recalling the Grayton Beach of 30 some years ago...sad.
Moved here 22 years ago and it has changed for sure. I've spent many, many evenings there but rarely go any more. We do hit up Louis Louis on the reg.

We stayed at Grayton often growing up. Now, all state parks are retirement centers for RVs. They stay two weeks and move to a new site within the park while enjoying the $20 all you can use electricity, sewer, and hot water showers.

I hate their golf carts and them. May they die earlier than expected.

The County's turnaround time for plan approvals was record breaking

Give us a mini-Tribe breakdown of your favorite restaurants in the area. I need a date spot for Saturday night

We don't go out as much as we used to and we're creatures of habit like most people. Therefore my last may not be the "best" restaurants in the area. Take her to The Terrace in Inlet Beach. It's an older intimate little mom and pop that has good steaks and seafood. We like Perfect Pig in Seagrove, Borago in Grayton and Louis Louis in Santa Rosa Beach. We like to eat at the bar and these are good spots for that. I've been to Cafe 30a several hundred times over the years and it's still good. My wife is the sushi eater in the family and she says Old Florida Fish House has the best. Chan's Wine World at Watercolor is a nice little wine bar with good pizza and other dishes. Stinky's Fish Camp in SRB for seafood is always good and Basmati's is great for fine dining with an Asian flair. Our rotation is probably Borago, Louis Louis and Chan's more than anything but for a date try Terrace, Paradis in Rosemary Beach, Cafe 30a or Basmati's. We have some pretty good spots but after 20 years I take lots of them for granted. If it's a one shot deal I'd probably go to Basmati's. Oh and Sunday brunch you have to go to Great Southern in Seaside. I could give you 10 others that are equally as good depending on the situation. Choringo's in Grayton after a day on the beach, Hurricanes Oyster Bar for happy hour and oysters, The Bay at the foot of the 331 bridge which we go to by boat, Siam Thai for Thai food but no alcohol. I'm glad the weekend starts tomorrow, I need to go out.
