GT Game

For those who have visited to GT in the past, what's the game experience like? I spoke to a Nole fan last year at the UL game and said the GT fans are the worst, very hostile and rude. I'm planning to take my 12 yr old boy and was wondering I it was safe or not. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.
