Halloween Tribute/Payola

So...what's the vig at your house. I usually take 20% off the top, plus 1 or 2 of any of the quality items, like full size candy bars or homemade treats.

Nothing to confiscate from the kiddo any longer but I get my fair share of what I pass out. For some reason, I’ve been snacking on the Milk Duds.

I keep all the Reese's and if I see some Reese's in a kid's bag, I will try to trade 2 or 3 extra pieces for their Reese's.

I'm not a candy fan really. I give out full sized candy bars or $2 bills for kids with outstanding costumes though.

A lot of my neighbors do beers or margaritas for the adults. I'm good with that.

My eldest has already offered half as tribute.
The youngest has only given me the stink eye. So I take it while she sleeps.

Since my son passed, Halloween is my favorite holiday. I love seeing and interacting with the kids. I love bartering with them, they are smart and tough customers.

If I get a kid to laugh and joke and really have fun, I'll toss in some of my prized Reese's. It's great therapy for me.

My kid is 5. I eat the smarties as he doesn't like them and I do.

No more Halloween Candy benders for me. The kids are grown and we don't get trick or theaters in our neighborhood. I've gone from one extreme to another. Haven't even had a single piece this year.
