Today’s topic.

How many people live in the same place or near where they grew up?

How many have friends for life from their youth?

Just curious. My motivation shall become clear later, when I reveal the reasons behind my questions?

Born and raised in south Florida
Yes on lifelong friends

Couple unique things:
Same principle that spanked my dad at elementary school paddled me too

Same doctor that delivered my siblings and me, delivered my two children

Lived in same house 50 plus years

Sorry if I messed up your thread, just thought I would share

Grew up all over the world until middle school where I stayed in the same school system to graduation and heading to FSU. I have lived all over the USA, currently in New Hampshire far from any place I lived "growing up."

I have life long friends from FSU, but no life long friends from K-12.

Air Force brat, Air Force pilot, Airline pilot so.......no.
We kinda got bored with a place after about 3 years anyway so I enjoyed moving around. Only got to spend 1 year in Alaska unfortunately.
Been in N. Tejas since '82.

Where did you grow up?

All over the place in the US. My family is from N. California, born in Montreal, then outside of San Diego, then Novato CA, then Montgomery Alabama, then Colorado Springs, then a year in the Sierras east of Reno, then Anchorage, then N. Virginia for high school, then parents stationed in Key West while I was at FSU, then Valdosta, then Tampa, then Holland, then Austin, then Tucson, and finally here in Grapevine (DFW) since 1982.

I live about 15 miles from where I grew up.

I don't keep in touch with my grade school friends and keep in touch with one friend from high school.

I grew up in West Palm Beach. Moved to the western panhandle 25 years ago. There are friends from high school I keep up with but I wouldn't call us close. My "best friend" and I have known each other for nearly 50 years and are neighbors now.

I grew up in Jacksonville but married a Miami boy and lived all around the country - from NY metro area to LA and stops in between. We took a big pause along the way in Texas and lived there for 20 years and it’s where my kids grew up and graduated school.
I’m now back in Jacksonville and have been here 21 years. Widow for 20.
I have dinner several times a year with my high school crew of girls and we laugh and gossip. 😈
I have connected with some of my FSU sorority sisters through Facebook and it’s been fun.
And my siblings are all back in Jacksonville too, as are their kids and offspring - so last weekend we had a family gathering for a baptism and about 40 showed up. Big families are the best.

Same place all my life, native Floridian.
Still have all my friends from growing up, its a big group. All of them are still local, except two. See them on average once a month for a few beers or for supper.
