It's pretty entertaining stuff.

It started when this 22yo English "social media influencer" (who's pretty attractive) sent an email to the White Moose Cafe in Dublin, asking for a free room in exchange for some good YouTube/Instagram publicity.

The owners did not receive the proposal well, but with great humor. They've previously banned vegans, and now they've banned bloggers. They're also (allegedly) sending he an invoice for all the free publicity they've given her. I enjoy seeing them calling her out for her freeloading BS, and their posts have been entertaining.

"“This one’s for my blogging angels!” begins 22-year-old Elle Darby’s YouTube video, before describing her ongoing feud with The White Moose Café in Dublin. Darby says she has been targeted for harassment since the restaurant posted her email request to stay at their hotel for free, mostly by people “30 years plus.”

The White Moose Cafe did share Darby’s letter on Facebook, attempting to black out her name, but her identity was uncovered. The post is indeed the roasting Darby characterizes it as in the video above; she had asked for a stay at their location at no cost in exchange for a review and social media posts. In response, White Moose Café asked:

"If I let you stay here in return for a feature in your video, who is going to pay the staff who look after you? Who is going to pay the housekeepers who clean your room? The waiters who serve you breakfast? The receptionist who checks you in? Who is going to pay for the light and heat you use during your stay? The laundering of your bed sheets? The water rates? Maybe I should tell my staff they will be featured in your video in lieu of receiving payment for work carried out while you’re in residence?""

A little weird to start a fight over, isn't it? If they didn't want to do this, isn't "no" sufficient? Instead of acting like they don't understand how marketing or advertising works?

When they put an ad in a travel magazine, do they dock all their worker's paychecks that week to pay for it?

Some businesses take advantage of something like this, others don't see the value in it. I didn't follow through the ensuing war or whatever and if she made and ass of herself, but it seems quite a bizarre and misplaced bit of grandstanding by the Inn.

Damnit NDRuss, now you got me hooked into this stupid drama.

If the blogger thinks that running her little blog is exhausting work, she should try to get a job working on a farm or shingling roofs. Then she'd know what exhausted means. Hotel might have been a bit over the top with the response but perhaps they are tired of clueless bloggers.

The cafe's second response video was pretty funny. Poor Jason.

I think they totally get how marketing works. This has been huge for them.

Serious question, no judgment: is she someone every guy would hit?

I mean, honestly, I'm from an era where guys liked thinner women with a toned butt. Like a size 6 with a nice chest.

She does nothing for me. I don't want to pick her apart but I can easily tell you her lips bug me and I don't care for women who need/wear a lot of makeup. That is being just superfical, quick reading and listening to her speak on the videos she would drive me crazy. Screams high maintenance to me, another deal breaker.

Thats me now, 20s me on the prowl, drinking and looking for Miss Right Now, yeah, probably. But sober 20s me would pass. Also, "hit" is relative. Any port in a storm changes every discussion. :)

I think there are very few women that "every guy" would hit. That's what's good though - there are lots of different "types" and lots of different guys that like each of those types. I'd imagine it'd be the same for women and the types of guys they like. If everyone only liked one type, it'd be pretty boring and generic, and anyone that didn't fit into that type would be pretty lonely.

As for me, she's not definitely my normal preference, but I find her attractive and I'd have relations with her, if the option was available to me.

As a guy that is out on 2 of the 3 Kardashian girls, and both of the Jenner girls (purposely excluding the "gender in question" one and the gold digging puppeteer of the bunch)... she'd be a no for me.

Not my type when I was young and single or now, but to say I would not hit might be just a tad disingenuous.

It think they brilliantly got just as much, if not more, social media advertising by doing what they did.
