We didn't have one, but it was a better situation than this...

Not bad overall but they lost a 26-0 streak over an incounty “rival”.

Not that bad!

Our senior year we had the best season our high school had to that point: 4-6.

We were a new school without an established program. It took a few years.

Ours was awful. We were playing a 2a schedule with a 1a team. We won 3 games in the three years I played. One each year. The year after I graduated they started playing a 1a schedule and were competitive. We would have 11-12 live bodies playing teams with 50 dressed out.

We actually had a good team. Made the playoffs at least 2 out of the 3 years (I do not recall if we did my JR yr or not).

Now why Leto continues to field a team at all after decades of abysmal results is puzzling to me. They never come close to a winning season and often lose by scores of 62-0 like they did last week.

Went to the second round of the playoffs my senior year. Now they suck bad, been outscored 110-0 last 2 games. Canceling the season doesn’t sound so bad

Not great. I think they won regions once during my time. Many times since and I believe 3 state championships.

It's the second or third smallest public high school in Florida. We're in the same class with schools three to four times our size, so it's difficult to be competitive.

Our current coach is a former Gator and NFL tight end (the one that didn't murder anyone). He found 30 or so athletes from a student body of about 80 boys. They outscored their first two opponents 129-0, including a 4A school five times our size.

Senior year my team went 7-3 and ended up in a 4 way tie for the district title. Lost in the first round of a Kansas Tie breaker on a missed FG.

The next two years Escambia won State titles in 3A and 4A.

My high school football team won back to back state championships ... the two years after I graduated. I like to think that I set the foundation for that. Of course I am just delusional and did not get a ring. The younger guys had much more talent. I was redeemed when I got a national championship ring at FSU.

I had to buy it at a pawn shop, but still was much better than not getting one.

No football team in Peru. I don't recall if the high school i went to for a couple years in Bakersfield was any good. I seem to recall they were about middle of the road.

I started as a freshman, we lost every game. Lost our first 7 games as a sophomore before finally breaking through. Our coach literally had a “how to coach football for dummies” book.

By junior year we replaced the coach, we thought we were going to be good; we lost our first 3 games but wound up 5-4, losing in the playoffs. Senior year we were good, went 7-3, lost to the eventual state champs in the playoffs. That team went on to win like 4 titles in a row ...

My HS team went 17-44-4 from '63-'69. We went winless my fresh, soph, and jun. yrs. - didn't score one year. Senior yr won the first two games! Lost next week 54-0 and all the rest by similar scores. My fresh yr , coach recruited me to go out for the team, I told him I was small and weak ( a swimmer actually) and slow as well, but he guaranteed me I'd play. Turned him down. Of course I was at FSU in '73..... We have it good now.

Man, some of you have incredible memories of records and scores from high school. I was a sports writer and editor for the school paper and I can't remember any records or game scores, except maybe one. I went to Coral Springs High School in North Broward County. It was a predominantly white upper middle class school, but we did have 100 or so black kids from Pompano bused in. Overall there was very little talent in terms of high major college ability. We played teams like Ely and Dillard, and we rarely were competitive with them. The one game I do remember was one I covered at Ely. They had a couple guys named Crockett (Henri and Zack) and their qb was Kevin McDougal, who some of you may remember as the guy who led ND over our first NC team in '93 in the Game of the Century. Somehow we only lost 14-7.

3 from my team went on to play d1 football and 1 a long time nfl player.

I know we are talking about bad high school teams but I would like to mention my Jr High team when I was in 9th grade. A six game schedule, we were so bad that we did not score any points until the 6th game when we scored a TD that set off a celebration in the stands. Did not make the PAT however and we still lost 32-6.

As I said, we were terrible, so terrible that earlier in the season against the other really bad team in the county we were locked in an ugly 0-0 tie in the 4th qtr. Both teams were completely inept on offense. We held the other team at around our 20 on 4th down with about 3 min left in the game. Three plays later we were tackled in our endzone for the safety and lost 2-0. We earned the title of most inept team in the conference.

For growing up in the middle of nowhere Gadsden County Fl we did all right. Made the playoffs a few times.

My brother played center in a wishbone offense. His job was to snap the ball and hit the first guy to the line except on plays where he pulled.

mine was pretty dang good a state championship and a runner up in consecutive seasons

We were my senior year. Played PW team in the state championship, we lost, but it was a very competitive game.

We sucked the following years.

Whose was it?

My sophomore year, we were terrible. The prior year, the team won the school's first ever district championship - with a team made up almost entirely of seniors. There were four guys back who'd gotten some playing time (two starters, two decent backups); one of them had grade problems & was ineligible, one decided not to play his senior year, one tore up his ankle in preseason drills & was out for the year. By the middle of the season, due to injuries & attrition, we only had about 18 players on the roster - half of them sophomores.
We mostly got killed all year. We went 1-9, with the only win coming against a team that went 0-10. It was one of the worst football games ever; we won 6-0, with the TD coming on a 70 yard run on a fake punt. Our coaches had noticed that on their punt returns, they had 10 guys at the line of scrimmage; they'd step forward, bump the guys on the punting team's line, then turn and go to one sideline to set up a wall. We practiced all week - take the snap, wait for them to turn & go, then take off for the other sideline. Our punter had run 30 yards by the time they turned around & saw him running down the opposite sideline, with 10 escorts to block the only guy they had over there (the return man). On the game film, it was one of the funniest clips I've ever seen.
My other two years we improved quite a bit, went .500 my junior year & 6-4 my senior year.
