television....check out the new show on Netflix with Emma Stone and Jonah Hill.

I’m two episodes in and still not sure if it’s good or not.

It was decent. Little reminiscent of Cloud Atlas. Thought Hill and Stone did well, as did most of the supporting cast.

Hahahahaha. Not sure if your review irritates me or intrigues me.

I do confess, I am a little biased against Johan Hill tho.

Exactly...not sure if the show irritates me or intrigues me either ?!?!?!

Two of the most annoying people in Hollywood...pass.

I prefer to not look directly at Emma Stone. This applies to Mena Suvari and Gerard Depardieu, as well.

Emma Stone just sort of draws you into whatever story she's telling. She was great in Crazy, Stupid Love

Pretty accurate with this show...the acting, dialogue, nostalgia etc is great. It keeps you watching scene to scene, but at the end of each episode you look around wondering what the hell you just watched.

Watched the whole thing, and my final verdict...thumbs down.

It's not without any redeeming quality, but at the end of the day...there's really not much here. There are plenty of pretty good and interesting segments, and any one snip of it is enjoyable, but it never takes the leap into actually being good, to me.

The performances are solid, some cute and clever ideas, but it does something that really, really annoys me in movies and television. It mistakes mildly amusing scenes and idea and dialogue with being actually FUNNY. Its almost relentlessly silly or slightly amusing, but pretty much never actually funny. Sometimes it's "wackiness" is downright annoying, like hey, isn't his hair crazy! Well, a weird hairstyle is not a joke, it's just not.

So it's not funny enough or have enough jokes to be a high concept comedy (like Future Man on Hulu - really underrated or Santa Clarita Diet on Netflix), but it's not a tight enough narrative or have enough to say to be an amusing drama (like maybe Better Call Saul or Stranger Things). In the end it's kind of like nothing.

Does it end with any type of revaluation or closure?
