The wife and I went to see it last night. Highly entertaining.

Not what I was expecting, but I liked it (more in hindsight than in real-time experience).

It was a combination of Stand by Me, Goonies, Stranger Things and The Conjuring...at least from a "feel" perspective. If DFS can add spoiler alert to the title, we can discuss further. :)

Sooooo, the didn't cover any real back story, right? Ben did some library research and found a head in a tree, but wasn't that the extent of it? I'm guessing they will dig further into what the frack "IT" is in part two.

I'm not sure Ben actually saw the clown face in the tree. The well went deeper than where they went to find Beverly so I wonder if the answers lie at the bottom of it.

I thought it was a good movie I give it a B+. I agree with the poster above who said it had to Stand By Me vibe. I was very curious how they were going to take a 1000 plus page book and cram it into a 2-hour 15-minute movie. About halfway through the movie I realized that they were not going to treat the adult side of the story at all, which explains how they were able to do it. Looking forward to the sequel.

Agree with a B+; the wisecracks and one liners from the kids had the audience LOLing. Kids are pretty good actors. Problem was, just as the scene with the slide projector was climaxing, we lost power in this part of town thanks to Irma. Everybody was kind of quiet in the dark for about 10 seconds, then some nervous laughter. Hell, I thought the theater was going to send in someone in a clown suit as a prank. Guess I'll go back tomorrow and catch the remainder. Got to admit I've enjoyed it to this point.

I wasn't thinking it was a clown, just a boy's head. However, now I am wondering the significance.
