Very near you is a tiny Mexican place only open during the day. Mitt's Tex Mex Cafe at 4130 Salisbury.
You can also follow jtb east to town center and find more chains.
No clue about sushi.

I've only been to Fuji Sushi in San Marco. It's good. They have an all-you-can-eat option if you're hungry (or a fatty).

Other good San Marco suggestions - Taverna, V Pizza, Ardwolf Brewing Co.

If you hop on JTB going East, exit Southside Blvd going north. Three good sushi joints about a mile up the road: Crazy Sushi, Yummy Sushi and Yashi Sushi. Crazy Sushi is the best of the three, IMO.

Seven Bridges is also in that area and they have great food and beer.

The depos I'm attending are at Riverfront Tower. Looks like there is a Hooters across they channel. Any other high quality eating establishments around here.

Hooters?
Not sure if serious...
You could go over to the baseball grounds and join the rest of us at the game tonite- playing uf...

If you're at Riverplace Tower, you're in San Marco basically. Sake House is at the bottom of a condo tower right around the corner. They have good sushi. There is a V Pizza location near there on Hendricks Ave. Bearded Pig is a REALLY good BBQ place with an amazing draft selection. Bistro Aix is on San Marco Blvd. San Marco Square has Taverna, Maple Street Biscuit Company, Matthews.....a lot to choose from

When you're in Tampa, check out Amature Works. It's a new food hall with some really good options and great spots to sit outside.

Whatever you do, just don't ask for Cuban sandwich recommendations.

I know better than to ask for a sandwich that comes from Miami in Tampa. Nothing but the original for this guy.

I will say this, the airport sucks. There one lady checking IDs and two scanners. Time to build a big boy’s airport.

Love the airport. Easy access, not big by any stretch, gates are easily labeled unlike TPA. Only downside is all the tubs at security being blue and orange.

Just found they have the best original NYC pizza place, Sbarro, here. However, I may go with the second best Tex-mex joint, Chili’s

It's like you're intentionally sending out a homing beacon...
I thought Arby's settled this.

What’s funny about that pic is none of those sandwiches came from where they list them.

The Cuban as we all know is from Tampa. The “Texas” Smoked Brisket is from Jewish delis long predating some of them moving to Texas and bringing their smoked brisket with them. The very first acknowledged Texas “bbq” brisket maker Mois Weil was a son of a French Jew who used his dad’s recipe. No less an authority than Texas Monthly admits the Jewish origins of “Texas BBQ”.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.texasmonthly.com/bbq/smoked-brisket-history/amp/

And finally the “New York Reuben” was likely invented in Nebraska. There’s a lot of haze around its first inventor so this one isn’t 100% provable as the first two, but there is a very strong case that it’s really a Nebraska Reuben.

So if I get an Arby’s Miami Cuban in Tampa, I’m eating an original. Done.
