1:42 p.m. College Football Live:
> Jonathan Vilma asked several questions about FSU's QB situation, saying that could be the missing link. Jimbo said everyone focuses too much on the QB. Also have to look at what is around them.
"I think our quarterback situation is very good. I love Sean Maguire. I think he has a chance to be a really good player. The young guy, Francois, is really talented along with Malik Henry and those guys."
Then Fisher said the good thing is they will be surrounded by great players. "Whoever plays quarterback for us will have a lot of good pieces around them."
> When asked if Dalvin is the best RB in the country, Jimbo said he's one of them.
"When he hits that accelerator, what you see is the numbers on the scoreboard change. ... He's a big, strong physical guy that does everything you want a back to do."
> Jimbo says he's not any more worried about Dalvin's health than he would be with any back.
> Vilma makes some crazy statement about FSU needing Miami to be good again to help them get into the college playoff. Jimbo is polite but basically says no they don't. Says the league is good enough anyway, plus FSU plays a tough non-conference schedule.
> Jimbo was asked about allowing Showtime in for access this season. He says it's not a big deal ... everything they do is already under a microscope. Said he wants people to see what the kids go through during a season ... academically, in practice, etc. Said he wants people to see "the price" the players pay to be great. ... He also thinks it will motivate the players to make good decisions since there will be cameras everywhere.
