Classic Ray Ban aviators for this guy.

Straight pimpin', all you clowns slippin'. Wearing Costas when you're not on the water makes you look chumpish.

Ray Bans, the sunglasses of the poor, juvenile and trend followers.
LOL Maui Jims. What, they were out of Scuba Steves?

Ray Ban, being trendy for 50+ years.
Ray Bans are the Nautica or Chaps of the sun glasses world. Trendy and available b/c they're cheap. Soon to be sold at your local Wal-Marts. Keep those aviators on you peasant.
price point aside (i know this is the LR), i dont find maui jims to be aesthetically pleasing or interesting.

its something i would see my father wearing with a tommy bahamas shirt and pleated front khakis short combo...while enjoying happy hour at bahams breeze. do you guys also have a bottle cap opener on the bottom of your flip flop?

/end judgement
Stop. The bottle opener on my flip flops is on the strap not the bottom. I'm no Neanderthal.

Bitch please. Last year I spent more money on spilled liquor, in bars from one side of this world to the other, than you made.

I bet you drive a Camry.

I'm thinking in investing in something a little better, but only on the assumption that they would scratch a little less easily, and clean up a little better/easier.

Is that a false hope? I don't care for the looks of them really, just in them holding up a little better longer.

That said, I'm not spending $100+ in any event. Is spending $50-60 really going to get you anything better than $20 at Walgreens?
Yes, the optics are much nicer once you pay for a decent pair. Don't have to spend $250, but you can't grab them off the rack at 7/11 and not expect crappy optics. A nice pair of polarize lenses is well worth the cost in a sunny local.

After losing my last pair of Costas I decided to go the $20 polarized route at Walmart.

Went through 3 pairs in about a month. Two of the pairs just broke while I was putting them on.

So I went back to Costas ( lenses impress me) and got a pair I like off eBay for under $100.

Peasant fairy tales because I don't work. Income is straight interest off of investments and property.

I have found that most traditional sunglasses look funky on me. I got a pair of Persol 0649's...and while they look really off on the majority of people I know, they work for my head.

That said I still couldn't get myself to spring for $200 MJs so I found a pretty comparable pair from Margaritaville for $80. I am about 6 months in so the verdict is still out but so far I am very happy with them. Never had a pair of Costa's.

Lol I lost a pair of maui Jim's in the ocean. Good to know they went to someone who loved them to death. Since I bought another pair with the neck strap and never leave home without them.

$3 on amazon in an assortment of colors, but if you want to pay $200 for women's sunglasses...that's your prerogative.

Re: Just broke my Costa Brines...what sunglasses are your favorites?.

Pretentiousness is thick in this thread. Sounds like a bunch of women deciding between prada or jimmy choos when the local department store has an adequate product for a tenth of the price

Just like a good pair of shoes, a tailored suit, or a more than $10 haircut...people can tell.

If I were frequenting The Ivy, Buckhead Saloon, Pool Hall, or spending my Saturdays crushing Bud Light at a Bro Filled apartment pool....I would wear my $4 H&M sunglasses. If I am driving, going to happy hour with coworkers/clients, or walking through midtown to go to dinner...I'll stick with higher quality glasses.

Bav. GTFOOH with that. Tailored suit, walking around midtown? Hahahaha

That's not what he said.

If he was going to dinner walking around midtown, he's wear glasses better than some $10 specials.

he did say it, he's a mod and edited it.

I typically wear cheap polarized shades from the fishing department at Walmart; price range from $5 to $15. Either Renegade, Berkley, or SpiderWire - whichever they have in stock when I am in need.

The last two times I bought expensive shades they were boat victims. One got knocked overboard just off the wall near Roatan, where the depth drops from 20 feet to about 1500 feet. Whatever sealife lives at 1500 feet has a sweet pair of shades. The other got smashed by a scuba tank.

I've owned a pair of Berkley's now for 7 years or so. Everyone thinks they are expensive. Cost me 5 bucks. Couldn't break them or lose them if I wanted to it seems.

I've got a pair of the Spiderwire now, and I have to admit they're holding up well. If they continue to do so, I probably won't upgrade. I don't know why those Wal Mart fishing glasses hold up so much better that similarly priced pairs at gas stations or drugstores, but they seem to.

My biggest problem with the Walmart fishing sunglasses though is that there seems to be some quality control issues, in that they fit weird, like they are sometimes uneven the way they rest on your ears. Not surprising, just have to make sure you take them out of the package and try them on.

I wore Costas for years until I won a pair of Ocean Waves at a CCA banquet one night. I'm on my 3rd pair now and wear them about 90% of the year. I have a pair of Keanons that I wear the other 10%. Both are great lenses and look good as well.

I wear a pair of Brooks Brothers, and they put everything in this thread to shame.

I wear prescription sunglasses and have been going with Ray-Bans from Optiworld for about the last 10 years. Had one pair of Fossils that I didn't like near as well.

Loved my last pair that I had for like 4 years until I left them in a rental car coming back from the Rose Bowl this year... really topped that trip off. Tried the National lost and found at LAX, but it was useless. Some car-cleaner in LA has a nice pair of scrip Ray Bans now...

Re: Just broke my Costa Brines...what sunglasses are your favorites?.

Love my costa fisch. I have had the 400 costa lenses in the past , not even close to the 580. Loved Maui Jim lenses but not the frame. IMO the costa 580 and Maui Jim are neck and neck on lenses . Costa much better on frames though
