Great summation of the performance and what was going on, Curt.
From this viewer’s perspective the first game felt unlike any other game I’ve seen them play this year. Instead of expecting to find a way to win no matter the circumstances, they seemed to lack confidence and were only hoping for the best. They were scared.
Instead of wanting the chance to bat or wanting the ball hit to them so they could make a play, they looked more concerned about possibly messing up or failing. They were playing not to lose instead of playing to win.
Enter Kat Sandercock for game two. She instilled confidence that spread to her teammates. While they were still much tighter than normal, they had just experienced in game one a game performance that was eerily similar to what had happened one year ago in losing the Regional. It was as if Kat wasn’t going to let her team lose and the defense responded. No way SC could win if they never scored.
Regardless of what happens going forward, this team won game two and the Regional in the finest of ‘Nole traditions.
Well done!
Now let’s have fun and take the Super Regional.

1 run in 13 innings? Fsu won't beat Georgia with that kind of offensive production..
