LATE REPORT

Florida State suspending freshman quarterback Malik Henry for a violation of team rules was the big news from Jimbo Fisher's post-practice talk with reporters.

Aside from Henry's suspension, Fisher did say he saw some things like and some he did not after Saturday's practice. He once again stressed how having two-a-days is another way to test the team's toughness and consistency.

Fisher said he liked what he saw from Josh Sweat upon his return. Sweat apparently told Fisher he was really happy to be back and be around the speed of the game. Fisher also said offensive lineman Alec Eberle is still working his way back from concussion symptoms.

Receiver Travis Rudolph is about a few days away from returning. Fisher said Rudolph was anxious to get back. So it would not be a surprise to see him come back sometime next week.

We've been told we'll grab Kareem Are, either Kermit Whitfield or Bobo Wilson and Freddie Stevenson for interviews.

As always, check back throughout the day for the latest stories, photos and videos from FSU.

EARLY REPORT

If you were expecting to find Saturday morning cartoons or the random infomercial promising you wealth and good fortune, you've come to the wrong place.

Florida State held practice at 9:30 a.m. and from what we heard, it sounds like this is the first of two-a-day practices slated for Saturday.

As we've seen so far throughout camp, there has been movement due to injuries, performances or otherwise. There was a bit of all three during the morning session.

Now, for the news:

>Freshman quarterback Malik Henry was not seen at practice. We're not sure why he was missing but we are speaking with Jimbo Fisher between 11:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. From there, we can update all of you with why he was missing.

>DE Josh Sweat returned and he was rather impressive. Sweat was recovering from concussion symptoms, something which also afflicted OL Alec Eberle. Eberle was at practice but was carrying his pads and helmet instead of wearing them. Others on the mend include: WR George Campbell, WR Travis Rudolph, WR Da'Vante Phillips, OL Cole Minshew, DE Adam Torres, DB Nate Andrews and DT Keith Bryant. WR Ermon Lane practice but he did require tape around his left thigh.

>The offensive line looked different. Roderick Johnson and Kareem Are kept their places on the left while Corey Martinez filled in for Eberle at center. On the right was Wilson Bell and Rick Leonard. Today's second team was Josh Ball-David Robbins-Andrew Boselli-Landon Dickerson-Ethan Frith. Redshirt sophomores Derrick Kelly and Brock Ruble were with the third team.

>As we said earlier, Sweat looked impressive. He returned to the first team defense surrounded by all the usual suspects. And for those wondering, the defense - depending upon the formation - was: DeMarcus Walker, Derrick Nnadi, Demarcus Christmas, Sweat, Ro'Derrick Hoskins, Jacob Pugh, Matthew Thomas, Tarvarus McFadden, Derwin James, Trey Marshall, Marquez White and Marcus Lewis.

>Staying with the defensive ends, they received some pretty solid instructions from Brad Lawing that's worth noting. James, who was with the defensive ends, was part of a drill where they swat the ball of out the quarterback's hands. Lawing told James he could be more aggressive when taking the ball.

>It was kind of funny to watch the ends considering a couple minutes earlier two graduate assistants were talking and one said, "Be careful. They're coming right at your wrists" when the drill began. Janarius Robinson was also receiving some instruction from Lawing. Robinson, on the same drill as James, was asked, "Have you ever been to a dance?" by Lawing. The point Lawing made was for him to be loose as he goes through drills for a more natural feel.

TWEET OF THE DAY:

Aside from speaking with Jimbo Fisher, we're set to get two players today as well.

Until next time. Bye for now.
