We were able to get independent confirmation that FSU is in the process of finalizing the hire of Randy Shannon to become the full-time linebackers coach. As we reported earlier, he's been effectively serving in that role on the recruiting trail this week.
Unless there's a last minute run by another school for him it should be official soon. This would be big for FSU recruiting in South Florida.

There's a report on Football Scoop that Randy Shannon is 'poised' to the full-time LB coach. That's not really a secret. The only issue is whether another school comes in with a better offer. That's still TBA.
As we mentioned previously, Shannon is out recruiting as a full-time assistant right now. As soon as we have something more definitive we'll let you know.
