Florida State junior Ta’Niya Latson was one of the five Ann Meyers Drysdale Players of the Week on Tuesday, recognized by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.

Latson was honored along with Amaris Baker (Drexel), Lauren Betts (UCLA), Ashley Sofilkanich (Bucknell) and Katelyn Young (Murray State). It was the third time this season Latson was named to the weekly list.

On Monday, Latson was named the ACC Player of the Week for the second straight week and fifth overall, after lifting the Seminoles to an 86-84 victory at No. 13 North Carolina on Sunday.

With 3.2 seconds left in a tie game, Sydney Bowles made a perfect inbound pass to Latson, who beat the defense driving to the basket as time expired, capturing the first ranked win for the Noles this season. It was the first walk-off win since 2007.

Despite eight points in the first half, Latson led the Noles in scoring, posting 25 points and dished seven assists.

The Seminoles led by as many as eight points early in the game but trailed by at most five as the game saw 20 lead changes.

Latson was also recognized as one of the honorable mentions for Associated Press Player of the Week.

Noles Back in the Polls

Florida State returned to the top 25 after the upset road win over the Tar Heels. The Seminoles returned to the AP Poll at No. 25 and No. 24 in the USA Today/UBCA Coaches Poll on Tuesday.

In the AP Poll, the Seminoles debuted the season at No.19 in October but have only received votes since dropping out. FSU was ranked 24th on January 7, but dropped out after a pair of conference losses on the west coast.

Florida State will continue on the road to face Boston College on Thursday at 6 p.m.
