I made a thread about highschool looking less and less likely this fall a month ago and people thought I was out of my mind. The gov can mandate schools open for academics but extracurriculars will likely be scrapped in many districts not only for safety but for cost savings. Athletics are not a net positive or break even financially at most schools.

Leon County pushed start of schools back another week to 8/31.

But the 11 PM news in Jax said that Leon schools will play football, but will limit their schedules to just other Leon County schools.
It was news in Jax because it means that at least three meetings between various Jacksonville schools and Tally schools won't take place as scheduled.

I think everyone is waiting for everyone else to "make a decision" so they can just follow what they do

Just in, per WOKV in Jax: After announcing that over a third of children in FL tested positive for C19 there were challenges to that finding; subsequently the FL DOH admitted their numbers were wrong. 8% of those tested statewide was found to be the accurate number.
DOH admitted their reporting has an element of "trial and error".

I'm very relieved that one in three of our children are not suffering from this virus. I'll leave further speculation to others.

Sorry, there's some over reaction going on that's just unbelievable to me.
