After a break of nearly 48 hours, the Florida State softball team returns to action Saturday night in primetime. The third-seeded Seminoles, who beat Oklahoma State 8-0 Thursday night, will take on No. 7 seed Washington, which beat Utah 4-1 Friday afternoon, at 7 p.m. on ESPN at Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City for a spot in the Women's College World Series Semifinals.

The winner's bracket game will be a rematch of the 2018 WCWS Championship Series. FSU swept the Huskies in that best-of-three series to bring home the first NCAA Championship in program history. Washington leads the all-time series 8-7, but FSU is 3-0 against Washington in WCWS games.

With a win, it would be the first time in 12 WCWS trips that FSU won both of its first two games to advance to the semifinals.

Big moment to throw Makenna in to, but that’s Lonni’s MO and she has handled the big moments really well for a freshman.

Imagine Kat is available out of the bullpen.

Chuckled at the "surprise" comment from ESPN pxp Kevin Brown on the broadcast that it was Reid and not Sandercock. It's really not a surprise

Why do the teams "cross brackets" if they lose. TN lost and now plays OKST in our bracket and the loser of our game tonight would jump over and play Stanford in the other bracket. What's up with that?
I don't know the why. My only guess would be diversity of matchups. What I do know is that this would be a really tough path to the championship series if FSU were to lose tonight.

Diving snag by Wacaser, who comes charging in to grab the ball that is sinking off Allchin's bat and into RF

So the leadoff walk doesn't hurt Reid

0-0, middle 1st

The pitching coach coming out just to try to tell the catcher how to frame better is pretty funny.

Edenfield strikes out looking. Looked to have hit the very bottom of the strike zone or was a bit low

Also, Edenfield is the catcher - so she'll take that call when Reid is pitching. Tough to argue

End 1st, 0-0

Lynch pops out to Kerr in left-center field

They call an illegal pitch, and now Lynch grounds out 6-3

I wonder if that was always the plan. Makenna wasn't her sharpest but she was far from bad.

Fiedler grounds out to Mack Leonard at 1B, nice play

But now Washington has runners in scoring position

Washington's definitely not afraid to swing the bat!

Stewart is HBP on the knee. And doesn't try to evade the pitch. But still gets first base

Bases loaded

Kat Sandercock nails once again.

That being said, Washington definitely saw her well that inning.
