Longest flight you've ever had?

Atlanta to Tokyo, seemed like 11-12 hours, went pretty fast. I believe we headed north along Alaska coast and back down to Japan. Movies, a book and free wine made things go faster.

What carrier gave you the free wine? The only one I've been on that had free booze across all classes was Virgin Australia---which I absolutely loved. They gave us free booze with lunch and dinner (surprisingly good Australian wines and beers), they had a snack stand where you could walk up and grab chips, soda, tea, cheese, peanuts, etc...for free whenever you wanted and the entertainment center had newish movies (before out on blu ray but only a few weeks after theaters). I was amazed at how much better Virgin Australia was over my usual carriers (Delta and American).

To my knowledge, all International flights serve free beer and wine. The 10 times I've flown internationally that was the case anyway. Delta, Virgin Atlantic, and American are the airlines I've flown on those flights.

I'm sitting here in Miami waiting on my connection to Tally (in 5 hours) after getting off of a 10-hour flight from Barcelona.

Last year I had a 12-hour flight from Rome but I know that's small potatoes for those of you that have gone to Dubai, Singapore, Australia, or Japan, among others.

What do you got!
Orlando to Atlanta-Amsterdam-Cape Town, South Africa. Longest stretch was 13 to 14 hrs. Total of 22 hrs in the air if I recollect. Then there was the return. Cape Town to Paris-Detroit-Orlando.

I didn't get %+^* on my flight last year from Philly to London. I can't remember if that was a Delta or American but they gave us a big fat nothing.

Looks like now that I've looked it up, Delta started free booze on international in Dec 2013 and currently it's only Delta, American and United amongst American carriers. So either they screwed us on the booze and we were supposed to get it, or American wasnt offering it yet or maybe I flew USAir before they discontinued operations. I'll have to see what I flew,

Air China had free beer & wine (not sure about hard liquor, but think that, too) on the flights between NYC/Beijing, along with two or 3 meals. Also, all of the flights I've ever taken to Central America (mostly Honduras, but a couple of times they touched through Belize or Nicaragua) had free booze (full bar, with premium label stuff) and a meal. Choice of shicken or biff.

Apparently I flew United to London which is not one I have a card for, but I didn't get booze on that flight so either they didn't serve us booze because it was a redeye (I don't remember if we even got a dinner) or was too short of a flight despite being international.

That sucks Tribe. I really thought it was everyone but maybe it's only certain flights.

Per the article I read everyone on a United, American or Delta flight on an international flight is supposed to get free booze as it started as an "arms race" at the end of 2013. But I definitely flew during that period and got screwed.

I had a flight from Paris to Atlanta....I was out the night before and never went to bed.

I fell asleep on the runway leaving Paris and woke up 30 minutes from Atlanta....timed it perfect. Bad news was that I came down with the flew when I got home. There were about 15 other people on the same flight that were with us, they all had it as well.

it sucked

Tampa to London. It was about 8hrs. It was about what I expected in terms of boredom, etc.

Believe it or not, when flying up along the Alaskan coast, you are heading more west (magnetic) than north.

It could have been worse...you could have gotten the guanira.

16 hour non-stop flight before and a ton of 36 hour travel days. I work all over the world so it's part of the job. I love it though, tons of fun!

I did a 16 hour this summer Houston direct to Taipei, Eva air just started that route in June or something. Had an empty seat next to me was a game changer.

That is key! I try to fly on Star Alliance as much as I can to rack up miles, so when I buy my govt rate ticket I can just upgrade with miles, that makes things a lot better. But if I know i'll have the whole row to myself I'm okay in the back

Dallas to Honolulu - first class so at least the seats were more comfortable and the food a little better.
Miami to LAX on a 747 which was half full so I stretched out in the middle row and took a nap.

both nonstop.

Etihad gives you free Alcohol.

I do remember having to ask, and to call the FA if we wanted another. It isn't like they announced it very well.

Either Jacksonville to Paris or Atlanta to Rome. Can't remember. One sucked b/c it was with my parents and my mom has issues flying and dad is a talker, the other sucked b/c I was just out of HS and the b**** next to me wouldn't switch seats with my GF (group tour booking) so I spent the entire flight having a two bill plus chick half falling asleep on me.

Tallahassee to JFK to Barcelona to Ibiza. Took 18 hours including layovers. Will possibly be flying to S Africa next year. Heard that is a 24 hour trek.

I did that trip this year, MIA-ATL-JNB

ATL-JNB is the second longest commercial flight in the world. 16.5 hours on the way there and 18 on the way back. Almost 9000 miles each way. It was brutal. I would never fly basic coach for that flight. We flew economy comfort and it was well worth it!

Longest time traveling back to the States was from Budapest to Orlando. Had a few connections due to my blind loyalty to Delta. Longest direct flight ever was Detroit to Beijing or Hong Kong to Atlanta. I think 13 to 14 hours. Crazy long.

Atlanta to Honolulu. I think it took about 15 hours. I had one sore ass after that flight.

And I just spent 19 hours from Seattle to Korea. Normally just 11 hours mind you. But we flew 4 hours, had a plane malfunction. Did a U turn came back to Seattle. Then got on another plane. Giving me 8 hours, a quick switch, and 11 to get there. That right there was the worst flight I ever had.

Shanghai to Chicago. I think it was 15 hours. I had a 2 year old kid sitting behind me that screamed every three minutes for the entire flight.

That was as fun as cancer.

Jax ---> Newark ---> Germany ---> Cluj, Romania

I was just coming off hernia surgery and had a fresh supply of vicoden. I don't remember many details but the pictures say I had one helluva a time.

Sounds like it's time to upgrade your traveling experience by investing in 1/16 of a private jet.

The price varies by plane and by share—you pay a one-time acquisition fee, plus fixed-cost monthly management fees for upkeep and pilot salaries and hourly rates for in-flight time and fuel surcharges. (A one-sixteenth share of Flight Options’ seven-seat Nextant 400XT jet costs $312,500 up front, has a monthly management fee of $7,260 and costs $1,509 per hour in the air.) Larger jets and shares can have multi-million dollar acquisition fees. You can generally bring along as many people as fit on the plane with no extra charges.
