Coach Lonni Alameda and the Florida State softball program signed nine players to its highly touted 2025 class on Wednesday.
"Today, we are thrilled to welcome an exceptional 2025 signing class to the Seminole family," said head softball coach Lonni Alameda. "This group represents the core values we hold dear at Florida State—family, competitiveness and commitment. They come to us from all over the country, bringing an incredible range of talent and experience to Tallahassee. With three strong pitchers and versatile players who can cover every position in the infield and outfield, this class is prepared to step in and make an impact as we graduate a talented senior class. Recruiting them has been such a joy, and they've proven themselves time and again both in high school and at the travel ball level. We can't wait to see the legacy they create here at FSU."
Harlie Chism | Infield | Weatherford, Oklahoma | Weatherford High School
Chism comes to Tallahassee with plenty of experience at the high school, national and international level. Chism is ranked the No. 17 overall player and the No. 5 infielder by On3 out of Weatherford, Oklahoma. Chism was selected to the U18 United States Junior National Team. Playing with current Florida State freshman Bella Ruggiero, Chism competed at the 2024 WBSC U18 World Cup Stage 1 tournament where she hit .429 (6-for-14) with one RBI and five runs scored to help Team USA punch its ticket to the 2025 WBSC World Cup Finals. In three years at Weatherford, Chism hit .456 with six home runs and 32 RBI with 17 stolen bases. Chism was also a great track athlete and a basketball player. Chism earned all-conference honorable mention for basketball in 2022 and 2023 and is a three-time track state champion. In the classroom, Chism was a top 10% academic scholar, the 2024 4A Track Academic State Champion, a member of the National Honors Society and is slated to be the class valedictorian. Harlie is the daughter of Toby and Keri Chism and has four siblings, Jordan, Hunter, Steele and Stone. Harlie is a triplet with her brothers Steele and Stone. Her sister, Jordan, played softball at Oklahoma Christian University and her brother, Hunter, played baseball at Northern Oklahoma College Enid.

However, her ability to play the game within the game is something we really liked when recruiting Harlie. She has a good sense for the game and for our program, and we are very excited to bring that knowledge to The Plex."
Assistant Coach Troy Cameron: "Harlie checks our core values of 'competitive', being that she is a triplet and has been competing with her bothers since day one! We are excited about the softball ability and skill set this Oklahoman is bringing to Tallahassee and fans will be too."
Bella Dimitrijevic | Pitcher | Mokena, Illinois | Lincoln-Way Central High School
The 2024 Illinois Gatorade Player of the Year is hoping to continue the Seminoles' pitching legacy as she comes to Tallahassee as one of the top ranked pitchers and overall players in the 2025 class. Dimitrijevic finished last season with a 26-3 record and 0.54 ERA in 169.2 innings while striking out 354 batters. Dimitrijevic is a three-time all-state honoree and was the SWSC All Conference Red Player of the Year and the Herald-News Athlete of the Year. She is ranked the top player in Illinois, the No.8 pitcher and the No. 21 player overall by On3. Dimitrijevic competed for the Croatian National Team at the World Softball European Championships in September. Dimitrijevic pitched 21.2 innings and finished with a 2-2 record with a 2.26 ERA with 28 strikeouts which ranked seventh in the entire tournament. In the classroom, Dimitrijevic holds a 4.35 GPA and is a member of National Honors Society and the Science National Honors Society. Dimitrijevic comes from a very athletic family as her dad, Alex, played basketball at North Park University and played professionally in Europe. Her grandfather, Jim Welsh, played football at the University of Illinois. Her uncle, Eric Welsh, played baseball for Northern Illinois and played 12 years with the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago White Sox organizations. Her grandmother, Nadia Maric played volleyball for the Yugoslavian National Team. Bella has one younger brother, Luka.

Averi Dockery | Pitcher/Infield | Hilltown, Pennsylvania | Pennridge High School
Dockery is a 6-2 pitcher and infielder from Pennridge, Pennsylvania, who hopes to make an impact for the Seminoles in the circle, in the field, and at the plate. Dockery is a two-time Second Team Suburban One All-League honoree and two-time Suburban One All-League Honorable Mention. Dockery was named the 2022 Pennridge High School Defensive Player of the Year and the 2023 Pennridge High School Offensive Player of the Year. Dockery also swam in high school and is a member of the National Honors Society. Dockery plans on majoring in biology at Florida State. She is the daughter of Shannon and Timothy Dockery and her dad played professional baseball in the Philadelphia Phillies and the Cincinnati Reds organizations.

Marlee Gaskell | Pitcher | Midlothian, Virginia | Midlothian High School
One of the best pitchers in the class is officially a Nole as Marlee Gaskell hopes to continue a long legacy of great Seminole pitchers. The 6-0 left hander from Midlothian, Virginia was named the No. 4 pitcher in the class by Extra Innings Softball and the No. 21 overall player by Line Drive Softball. Gaskell is a two time all-state, all-region, and all-metro honoree and was the Region 5C Player of the Year. Last season, Gaskell pitched 133 innings with a 1.21 ERA with 174 strikeouts compared to just 30 walks. Gaskell threw six complete shutouts and held opponents to a .168 batting average. Gaskell was also solid at the plate as she hit .408 with seven home runs and 27 RBI. Gaskell is a member of the National Honors Society, Mu Alpha Theta Honors Society, Science National Honors Society, National English Honors Society, Rho Kappa Honors Society, and the National Business Honors Society. Gaskell plans on majoring in marketing at Florida State. Marlee is the daughter of Leslie and Chris Gaskell. Chris was a center for the Wake Forest football team from 1993-97.

Marlee and her family are all in for the team. I am excited for her ability to continue to grow daily here in Tallahassee. She will add another look from the left side and create quality depth for the Noles in the circle."
Assistant Coach Travis Wilson: "Marlee is going to be a fantastic addition to our team. Just being around this young lady and her family is a joy. She is a hard worker who loves the opportunity to compete. Her ability to spin the ball and change speeds will be huge for our pitching staff. She has a calm presence on the mound and will be the type of player that all teammates and coaches appreciate. I'm really looking forward to watching her continued development under Coach Alameda."
Hayley Griggs | Infield | Perrysburg, Ohio | Perrysburg High School
Griggs comes to Florida State as one of the best middle infielders in the country. Griggs has battled her way back to prominence after suffering an ACL injury which caused her to miss her entire freshman season of high school softball as well as the travel ball season in the summer. Since that moment, Griggs has been phenomenal as she was a two-time All-Ohio honoree and a two time all-district. Griggs was one of 20 players in the 2025 class to play in the PGF Futures All-American Game where she was named the MVP following her performance. Griggs is also a standout basketball player for Perrysburg and has earned all-district honors twice. Griggs was ranked No. 6 overall in the 2025 class and was ranked No. 2 at her position by Softball America. Off the field, Griggs has earned high honor roll in all three years of high school. She plans to major in business upon arriving in Tallahassee. She is the daughter of Lindsay Dwornik and Cory Griggs and has two sisters, Kylie Griggs and Torrie Purcell. Kylie is currently a senior for the Pitt Panthers softball team.

We also value the person that is going to wear the uniform and when you are able to bring in that combination of high-level skills with leadership abilities it is a homerun for the Noles. Hayley has the grit and glue that we are pumped to get on campus in the fall of 2025."

Marin Heller | Infield | West Des Moines, Iowa | West Des Moines Valley High School
Heller hails from West Des Moines, Iowa, and was one of the top players in the state at the 5A level. Heller was a First Team All-State honoree in Iowa last season as she led all of Class 5A in RBI. Heller helped West Des Moines Valley to the Class 5A State Championship Game where they fell just short. Heller was also a First Team all-conference honoree and was a member of the all-tournament team for the 5A Iowa State Tournament. Heller also was a member of her high school basketball team her freshman and sophomore season. Off the field, Heller holds a 4.0 GPA, has earned academic honors and was on the honor roll in her first three years of high school. She plans on majoring in sport management. Heller is the daughter of Linda and Chris Heller and has one sister, Audrey.

Marin has a quiet confidence in her softball skill sets but also loves the challenges of winning as a team. Marin and her family are passionate for sport, and we are very lucky that they have joining our family."
Assistant Coach Travis Wilson: Marin is an exceptional middle infielder from Iowa, known for her high-level understanding of the game and her ability to be in the right spots defensively. She's a true student of the sport, bringing a no-nonsense attitude that perfectly aligns with our team's competitiveness. Florida State fans will really enjoy Marin's approach to the game. Marin's presence up the middle will make an immediate impact, and we can't wait to see her excel in our program in all areas."
Anna Hinde | Infielder/Catcher | Charlotte, North Carolina | Charlotte Christian School
Hinde is one of the top players in the 2025 class as she was ranked the No. 1 overall prospect by Legacy & Legends Softball, the No. 2 overall player in the class by MaxPreps, Extra Inning Softball and Line Drive Media. She was ranked the top infielder in the class by Extra Inning Softball. Hinde was a 2024 finalist for the the North Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year and earned NFCA Second Team All-Region in 2024. Hinde was also selected as a 2024 PGF Futures All-American, joining future teammates Hayley Griggs and Bella Dimitrijevic. Hinde has been dominant for Charlotte Christian School over the course of her career. In 78 high school games, Hinde is hitting .570 with 37 home runs, 126 RBI, 122 runs scored, 77 walks and a 1.261 slugging percentage. Hinde broke the single-season home run record for Charlotte Christian as a freshman with 13 home runs. Hinde helped Charlotte Christian to the school's first 4A State Championships as they took home the title in 2022 and 2023. Hinde is just as impressive off the field as she holds a 4.356 GPA and is a member of the National Honors Society. Hinde is a four-time National High School Coaches Association First Team Academic All-American and was the Charlotte Observer's Girls Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2022 and 2023. Hinde plans on majoring in criminology once she arrives on campus. Hinde is the daughter of Kevin and Donna Hinde. Her dad, Kevin, played baseball at Clemson. Anna has one brother, Cameron.

Anna brings exceptional skill as a catcher and third baseman, paired with a relentless work ethic and commitment to the game. She has been a pleasure to watch during the recruiting process, and we're excited to see how Anna will continue to elevate our program and inspire those around her"
Danika Spinogatti | Catcher/Infield | Winter Garden, Florida | Montverde Academy
Spinogatti hails from the prestigious Montverde Academy where she turned herself into one of the top prospects in the country. Spinogatti is the No. 26 overall player by Extra Innings Softball and is a five-time Florida Class 3A All-State honoree. She was a PGF All-American Finalist in 2022 and 2023 and was selected to the USSSA Select 30 All-Star Game in 2021 and 2022 and the Triple Crown All-Star Game in 2023. She was also the Montverde Academy Athlete of the Year and became just the 10th female athlete in school's history to win the award. Spinogatti helped Montverde Academy to its first-ever state title last season. In her career, Spinogatti holds a .395 batting average with eight home runs, 28 doubles and 79 RBI. Spinogatti played for the U18 Italian National Team and is currently in the process of earning Italian dual citizenship. Off the field, Spinogatti earned Highest Honors, is a member of the National Honors Society, Rho Kappa, National Spanish Honors Society and National Science Honors Society. She is the daughter of Dean and Camille Spinogatti and has one brother Zachary. Her father played basketball at Montclair State University.

Assistant Coach Travis Wilson: "Danika was a late pick up for the Noles. She is a solid defender behind the plate and a patient hitter in the box. She will add some depth and a strong left-handed bat to our program. We are excited to have her and her family join our program."
Makenna Sturgis | Infield | Tampa, Florida | Alonso High School .
Out of Tampa, Sturgis will bring some speed and toughness to the Florida State softball program. At Alonso High School, Sturgis holds a .518 batting average with 16 home runs and 60 RBI in 56 games. In those 56 games, Sturgis has recorded 47 stolen bases. Sturgis is also a standout flag football player for Alonzo High School. Sturgis was also selected to the U17 Team USA Flag Football Team where they won gold in 2023. Off the field, Sturgis holds a 3.9 GPA and is the senior class president. Sturgis is also a member of the National Honors Society, Rho Kappa, and Blue Crew. She is the daughter of Valerie Burke-Sturgis and Lance Sturgis and has one sister, Ashling.
Head Coach Lonni Alameda: Makenna is an elite athlete that has us excited to watch her run the bases for Team 43. Makenna is a hard-working softball player and can play many positions on the field, so her versatility will be exciting to watch flourish in our environment."

With her international softball experience with Team Ireland and standout flag football background, she brings a unique athleticism that FSU fans will love.
