Florida State
Preseason rank: 1

Final 2014-15 Golfweek/Sagarin ranking: 3

2014-15 in review: The Seminoles reached No. 1 in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings during the season before ultimately finishing 11th at the NCAA Championship. Florida State won six times as a team and was also third at the ACC Championship.

Notable departures: None

Key returnees: Jack Maguire, Hank Lebioda, Rowin Caron

Newcomers of note: Bennett Baker, Corey Carlson

Fall schedule: Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational, Sept. 18-20; Dick's Sporting Goods Collegiate Challenge Cup, Sept. 25-27; Jerry Pate Intercollegiate, Oct. 5-6; U.S. Collegiate, Oct. 16-18.

Fall outlook: It all starts with junior Jack Maguire, who has been the Seminoles' top player ever since arriving in Tallahassee. Maguire, who played in this year's U.S. Open, finished last season ranked ninth by Golfweek. He is joined by seniors Hank Lebioda and Rowin Caron, two top-30 players from a season ago. Junior Cristobal Del Solar nearly qualified for the U.S. Open this summer, losing in a playoff to Sam Horsfield, and his classmates, Josh Lee and Anthony Alex, also return. This is a deep and experienced squad for head coach Trey Jones, and he gets some new pieces, including Bennett Baker and Corey Carlson. The Seminoles are legit national-title contenders.
