Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Now that you've been to your service had time to enjoy watching the kids open their presents, I want to thank each of you for your interest in Florida State sports and sharing your passion with us.

I also want to thank our staff -- Bob, Pat, Curt, Nick Fish and each of our moderators -- for their time and caring about each of you as we covered a very difficult season.

I'll be honest, I wasn't feeling real thankful about Florida State at Thanksgiving, But the developments over the past 30 days with the addition of new coaches and an influx of 6-6 and 6-7 offensive linemen and receivers and a large defensive front has certainly given each of us a re-newed reason for hope. And isn't that the message of the Holiday season?

According to Luke 2:10, the Angels proclaimed: “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.” The angel's message reminds us Christmas is about more than festive traditions; it’s a celebration of the hope, peace, and joy that came with Jesus’ birth.

My understanding of Hanukkah is that it is a celebration of light over darkness, which I can also relate to, a time when the Jewsih people honor God’s miracles. According to FIRM, it is also a time to celebrate the resilience of faith. Hanukkah stands as a testament to the enduring light of God that no force of darkness can extinguish.

I don't mean to diminish the religious relevance of the season with a football perspective, but I certainly have felt it. Afterall, football is a religion here in the south.

I know your faith in FSU football has been tested. Maybe you, like me, have not felt peace or joy, or hope for the program in 2024, or at least until recently. But after our wish that Mike Norvell would make changes in his staff and among his roster began to materialize, I sense a feeling of joy and of hope among friends and readers and that brings me joy. Each of those signings excited me, like opening a gift, and more importantly they restored some hope that Norvell knows what went wrong and how to fix it, and can fulfill his commitment to deliver the program from darkness, back into the light.

While we won't feel peace until we see FSU winning games again, hope is a welcomed blessing.

May the blessing of the season be with you and your family and may we all grow in hope for the 2025 Florida State season ahead.

And thank you again for caring.
